Hazelnut was born on a summer's night to Angel and Tommy, both house-cats, along with 4 siblings. Both her parents came from a long line of pure-bred
classic tabby's. However they left their warm, cozy homes to bring up their kits away from the humans. This was because the humans her parents were owned by only kept them for the money that they would receive through pet shows. Once Hazel's mother had gave birth to her and her siblings the parents took them away as soon as they could. Escaping their past life and beginning again on the streets.
That is where Hazel had stayed ever since, in that same city with the same cats and the same routine. It stayed that way for two years until she finally got tired of it. Hazel was sick of being a stray. She was sick of being dirty, cold, hungry and most of all sick of being shooed away because of something she had no control of. Hazel blamed her parents for bringing her onto the streets, when she had always wanted a home. Her parents tried to convince her it was for the best she stayed on the streets, but she didn't listen. So one night she ran away from her family. Her goal: to get a human family, where she could live out the rest of her days.
It didn't take long. Just a few weeks later Hazel came across a small child, no older than five, with her parents. The parents didn't seem to mind her being there, to Hazel's surprise, and even welcomed her. After Hazel warmed up to the family they decided to take her home. Hazel was thrilled, she had a family. She completed what she set out to do. However this didn't last for long.
Just six months later the family house was broken into, the burglars had broke in and stole multiple valuable items. But the burglars didn't only steal items, they had killed the family. Now Hazel had nobody, her human family was gone and she didn't know where her actual family was. She was lost, heartbroken, dying... Hazel stayed in that house for days until finally police had entered the house and found her. However Hazel didn't want to be taken away, because she knew she would be given to another family. She didn't want that, she wanted to either be with her human family or her cat family. If those weren't options, she wanted to be by herself. That was what happened... Hazel was left, alone. She escaped the police, clawing them, biting them. Anything in her power, she did just to stop them from taking her to another family.
Now, two months on, Hazelnut still lives in that same city. She returns to the family house every year. On the same day and the same time that the burglars entered the house. Now a new family moved into that house and Hazel may not be happy about it, but still wishes them luck.
