Never before had he tasted such sweet nectar. Even now, as he made his way down the darkened streets of the city, it's sweet taste stained his tongue, and he mourned the fact that, as all great flavors did, it would eventually fade.
He heard him before he saw him.
"You shouldn't have done that, Kane."
Something ice cold flooded his veins, and a bitterness suddenly tainted the once beautiful flavor in his mouth. Spinning around he gazed in wide-eyed horror at the Gargoyle standing before him, stone cold eyes boring into his own.
"I thought you couldn't leave the church." Kane gasped out, the coldness in his blood causing him to shiver; and certainly it was the cold, and not the sudden terror boiling in his belly that caused it. The liquid on his tongue lost it's sweetness, replaced by a burning sourness that stung his gums and bit at his throat.
Gray eyes narrowed, matching fangs peeling back in a dark sort of leer. "Just because I've never done so before doesn't mean I am incapable of it." Perseus informed the vampire coolly, stone fur beginning to raise as a rumbling snarl bubbled from his throat. "You made a mistake, Kane. And you're going to pay for it."
Then and there, Kane knew he was going to die. But with his pride as high as it was, he refused to go down without a fight. Bracing his claws against the ground he braced himself, lips peeling back to reveal red-stained fangs, he growled a challenge. "I'd like to see you make me."

The most that I can reveal is Kane defiled the sanctity of Adam's church - which Perseus guards - in some way, and thus Perseus is forced to punish him.
