Nightmare is a dangerous soul, who only have one target; Revenge. She is cold, ruthless and merciless to her enemies. She often attacks without any warnings. Also she always tends to be bitter or even rude around others. She is snappy and prefers being on her own, instead with others. She enjoys the darkness and the silence as well as she enjoys causing death and pain to all clan cats. But she wasn't like this always. When she was younger, Nightmare was a shy and helpful she-kit. Unlike most rouges, Nightmare still believes in Starclan and thinks that her mother is there.

Sparrowhunt was a brave, honest, polite and a helpful she-cat. She was one of the high-ranked warriors at the clan. But Sparrowhunt had given her heart to a dangerous rouge, this forbidden love was dangerous for her. Soon, her clanmates have learnt about her love and the litter she was about to have, this made her clanmates think she was a traitor. The rouge father had left Sparrowhunt to her fate when he learned she was pregnant. But the leader was still trusting her and let her stay in the clan with her kits. Later, she had her litter two black kits; A tom and a she-cat. The tom-kit had born too weak to survive unlike his sister, who was very strong. Things were going well for them, but than the cats who were jealous of her made an evil plan. Accused for a murder she haven't done, Sparrowhunt got exiled with her kit. She and the young Dreamkit started to stay outside of the clan territories on their own. But the cats still weren't happy about this, they wanted both Sparrowhunt and her kit dead. While Sparrowhunt was hunting with Dreamkit, the clan cats showed up and started chasing them. Sparrowhunt couldn't fight against them so chosen to run. They have chased her until the river which was running too fast for a cat to survive. Sparrowhunt was trapped, she had only one move left to do. She took Dreamkit and tiried to pass the river, but it was too strong for a weakened she-cat like her. But she had to take Dreamkit to safety, she passed the river using every strenght she had. She was barely able to pass the river and let Dreamkit on the shore, before the water took her body away from Dreamkit.
The orphaned Dreamkit ran as fast as she could, promising she would never come near the river ever again. The small kit was later found by an old and wise loner, who was living in an abandoned two-leg place. Dreamkit was taken in by her, she started teaching how to hunt and survive. Moon passed by, Dreamkit became Dreampaw. She met a runaway kittypet tom, whom wanted to learn and possibly join the clan cats. He was exited to see Dreampaw and asked her to teach him about the clans. Young Dreampaw accepted, but asked him to stay. Dreampaw, whom renamed herself Dream after the old loner passed away, lived in the two-leg place with the kitty-pet. Dream had thought him everything about the clans and the kittypet told her about the two-legs. Dreamkit and him soon became mates. Things had became bright and happy for both of them, they were living a dream, until he was killed by the clan cats for entering their territories. Dream was never able to see his corpse, she was still in the two-leg place when he was hunting. She walked away from the forest where she had born when she heard he was killed by the clan cats from another loner. Rage and thoughts of Revenge was the only thing she ever wanted. Her dream had turned into a Nightmare so her name became Nightmare after all.
She have returned back to the forest a few moons earlier, getting established in the old abandoned two-leg nest of hers, and seeking revenge on the clan.
