Kuli

Postby Joypaw » Sun Sep 15, 2013 8:07 pm

Kuli was a rather small rodent, but quick on her feet and fast in her strategies. Of course, this still didn't make her stand a chance against being abducted by the head-furs. They threw her in a den made of foreign webs that were indestructible, and the floor was a pad of fine fluff with a more solid web on the bottom to keep the fluff from falling, Kuli supposed. After many failed escape plans, the head-furs decided putting heavy pieces of the shiny webbing on her would stop her from even trying. Of course it did not, but she found being mobile was easier said than done with the strange webs on. Not long after they fitted her with some sort of strange hide, a piece on each foot and a strip around her tail. Then they added a tougher piece around her neck, with horrid notches that poked her whenever her head turned. It was around that time they began to poke holes in her skin with some unimaginable thing, something Kuli could never hope to describe properly. It looked like a thin, shiny thorn attached to a clear leaf that had been curled and filled with liquid. Each time they pierced her with it, she'd get a dreadful nausea and soon fall on her side and pass out. This went on for so long Kuli had forgotten what her home even looked like. However, it was only after a few pricks that Kuli's spine began to ache. Each time the pain worsened, until she struggled to stay conscious due to the agonizing pain. Slowly but surely, little sprouts blossomed on her back. They were a dark, sinister blue, and they at last formed into bat-like wings, but it took quite a time before they could even twitch without Kuli nearly dying from agony. The head-furs made delighted humming sounds, their large mouths moving quickly with excitement. They enjoyed her suffering. Or they enjoyed looking at her mutation which should never be even thought of on a rat! I shall surely someday be freed, and give those head-furs just as much grief, Kuli thought angrily. And so she did, finally escaping by force once her body had grown accustomed to the invading skin and bones that had formed from her spine. The head-furs grew terribly sick from infected wounds, and Kuli watched gleefully before leaping out an open window, and staring in awe at the lush green grass and large fruit-bearing trees. At long last, freedom!

A new rodent character to add to my rather small collection. I take no credit for the lines/background, only the character. Sorry for the long paragraph, but I felt like a backstory might give the picture more meaning. Knowing me, though, nothing that has to do with writing is very small. ^^' Welp, that's about it. Hope you viewers like my character. :3
Hi, I'm Joypaw. I generally don't come on to trade pets, mostly to draw or write. Currently I am working on a novel called 'The Undergoing Way', and I'd be most overjoyed to hear your opinions on it~! For samples and updates, please check here: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=2321090
