What is a Winged Wolf?
A Winged Wolf (WW) is a highly unusual species. Their build is that of a wolf but their tails resemble a fox. Winged Wolves are unique in their own little way, no winged wolf is ever the same and each one has a distinct personality to them. Winged Wolves mate for life, so if you have a mate with someone you can't change it. Winged Wolves social structure is also a strange one, unlike normal wolves they don't have the social structure of a pack, instead they have the structure of a flock of birds instead. Winged Wolves eat anything from large herbivores to insects on the flight, rarely seen eating fruit they are mainly carnivores. Rare Winged Wolves have either a gem on them or something else distinguishing their unsualness from the others. A female Winged Wolf will care not only for her young but that of other Winged Wolves as well and will defend them fiercely if need be. Winged Wolves can be seen from the Earlie Twilight hours to the early light of the dawn, they spend most of the day in dens high on a mountain. The "flock" is lead by a old member of the Winged Wolves species, this could be the mother, the father or both or even a really old aunt or uncle, maybe even a cousin or sibling, the rest of the group either consists of all offspring or related members in some way. Should a Winged Wolf lose its mate, it will not find another and will live out its life solo until its final days. Winged Wolves do not give birth to live young, instead the young are born in a really hard egg, incapable of being broken into and located in the deepest tunnel, only the mother of the eggs knows where her nest is.
Height and Weight:
A Winged Wolf can be about as tall as an Ostrich or as small as a finch their wight matches their size so a much larger Winged Wolf will weigh way more than its smaller cousins.
Predators:
Though not known to have a lot of predators, Winged Wolves who are very small fear Hawks, Falcons and Eagles which are fast enough to catch them on the fly or swoop down on them without them even knowing it. Bigger Winged Wolves fear the biggest, most destructive predator known to all animal kind, humans.
Location:
Winged Wolves can be found anywhere.
Nature:
Winged Wolves tend to be a very calm and social animal. Bonding to its owner at a young age is very crucial as it will determine how well the wolf will respond to you when it is grown up. It is always essential for the owner to teach the pup how to fly when its wings are older if the owner should happen to only adopt the egg and not the mother as well, if the owner does not teach the young pup to fly it will fall victim to much larger predators or will suffer from boredom. Winged Wolves tamed the right way tend to be more protective over their owners and will defend their "turf" with their life if necessary but they also make wonderful family companions. Winged Wolves are gentle around children and tolerable around other pets if properly introduced at the most critical time, when they hatch out of the egg and can walk. Without proper introduction, a Winged Wolf will become violent, viewing the child or pets as a enemy or predator.
How to adopt:
Its very easy to adopt a Winged Wolf. All you have to do is go to the Winged Wolf that is up for adoption and follow the form placed below the picture. Remember to read everything carefully, failure to do so could result in you not winning the Winged Wolf you want.
What if I can't care for it anymore?:
If for some reason you find you can no longer care for your Winged Wolf, tell me and I will place it in the pound to be adopted out to someone who can take care of it. But be warned, only take on a Winged Wolf if you are certain you can handle the training, raising and proper care for it. Taking on a Winged Wolf when you are not fully sure if you can handle it will not only be a challenge for you but for the wolf as well as unmanageable wolves are returned to the wild deemed "too dangerous".
How many can I have?:
A Minimum of up to 10 Winged Wolves can be within your pack, you can either have a flock of all female, male, or breeding pairs. When the flock reaches to 10 members the wolves will stop breeding until the numbers go down. Should the wolves continue breeding the young are forced out at a very young age and placed in the pound so they are cared for and will not starve to death.
Can I be a staff?
If you feel that you can manage being a staff member than feel free to fill out your own form but clearly state what position you are asking for and how much knowledge you have in it. If you are planning on becoming an artists, example will be needed.
Customs?
Yes, though customs may cost more than the normal adoptable as some users want a really complicated design or a design to match their fursona and what not. Customs that have too much in their design will cost either a rare, very rare, or OMG! So Rare! While less designs tend to cost less.
Breeding:
While breeding will be allowed, there can be a minimum of only two breeding's per week as we can't let the population get totally out of control. So time your breeding perfectly! Pup and egg lines will be done from my own work, don't like them? Artists can feel free to change them only a bit to make them look better other than that? No claiming them.
Rules:
~All of Tess's rules apply
~Lines belong to n-ymph- Wolf lineart
~Pup and egg lines belong to me so no claiming
~Artists cannot remove the original artists signature. Please read main page to see what she means
~Artists can add other accessories to their adoptable and may only contain 5 customs OR adopt like everyone else and own their own flock
~Breeding center will be announced when it is created so please don't ask when will it be up and ready
~Artists are to post their own rules, slots, and what they will or will not do in their own section and edit it as they are chosen.
~Wing lines belong to me! I drew them so please no claiming them!
~Do not spam or double post on here please. I don't need this thread locked and have everyone robbed of their wolves.
~Remember! Only 2 breeding per week! NO MORE!
~Offspring must have characteristics inherited from both parents, no random colored newborns please.
~Winged Wolves have no specific color, so if you want them to look natural go for it.
~Have fun!
