Name:
Fauna

Meaning/Reason for Name:
Her name comes from the goddess 'Fauna', and she has several associations-- first and foremost, she is thought to be the female counterpart to the god Faunus, lord of forests, hunting and fertility. The second most common one is with fauns, half-animal men who are often depicted as being part goat, or part deer; which I feel is fitting for this sort of character.

Hobby:
She has several, though her favorite one is a bit... unusual. Fauna has a deep interest in mythology and rare creatures, you see, so she's often traveling and alternately hiding out in old libraries, or braving Celestia knows what sort of terrains to get a personal account of whatever might be lurking nearby. Her greatest dream is to find the gates to Tartarus, and perhaps at least get a good look at Cerberus, though she'd love to figure out what else might be hidden away.

She also enjoys gardening, and it's rare to find Fauna without a crown of her favorite flowers around her horns. While Fauna is extremely fond of music, and attends any performances she can, she has a rather awful voice and no real skill when it comes to instruments. A bit of a disappointment to the little deer, but she tries not to let it get her down too much.

Cutie Mark & Talent?:
N/A -- I'm not a fan of non-ponies/non-pony hybrids having cutie marks. (If it's absolutely required, though... perhaps three dog's heads *stylized however you need to in order to make it work* or something to symbolize mythical creatures; with her talent being in studying and understanding them.)

Why You Want Her:
I've slowly been warming up to the idea of deer ponies for a while now, and have wanted one of my own. Sadly, my design skills are crap when it comes to them, but this girl is absolutely fantastic and way too cute not to try out for
