So, to explain, Nova told Ciel that she watched his parents be killed by a bear. He felt angry that she just stood there and watched his family die and didn't even let him die with them. He grew super depressed and wouldn't eat. He even started to rip some of his skin off, just to feel closer to his family. Kage, being the amazing big sister she is, went over and talked to him. The only reaction she had for him was "I don't care who those wolves that were you're family,I don't even care that you hate mom! I love you no matter what! You're my baby brother, There has to be something I can do to make you feel better."
