A white she-wolf's paws clattered over an old trail. She breathed in, loving the scent of the sweet frost-covered snow. She turned when somehing caught her eye- a brown and yellow flash at the treeline on the edge of the meadow. Those colors against a white backdrop, how could she not see it? She new who it was, and she leapt of the trail and bounded over the snow banks towards it. When she got to the treeline, she saw it heading for her. She shook he snow that collected on her pelt, not that it was very noticable, and pretended she was on a stroll.
"Hey Mistle!"
She turned as he called out to her. "You know that's not my name," she pointed out with a smile.
"Fine, Mistletoe," He replied, stopping beside her. "Nice greeting."
"I'm sorry, all-mighty Streak!" She replied, bowing down.
"Hmm...it's getting better." Mistletoe rolled her eyes and, was responded with a snowball in her face.
"Hey!" She yelled, half-laughing. She shook the snow out of her eyes, and found his eyes clouded with worry.
"You ok? You're turning red."
Mistletoe felt embarrassed, only blushing and making it worse. She looked back at him, and a soft smile crept across his lips. She felt herself sinking into a quiet, peaceful deafness. She could loose herself, in that moment. She could loose herself in the bright yellow stripes streaking his brown pelt; in the caramel brown freckles on his cheecks, muzzle, and forehead; in his big red eyes.
"Come on, we'll have the healer have a look 'atcha," Streak said, breaking it. His cheecks were reddening too. She followed him as he trudged for camp. She wondered what she looked like, her red cheeks standing out against her white and dull lime green fur. She glanced at the bright red mark on her shoulder. Is my face as read as that? She felt embarrassed, and a strong heart-sickness for him. I have to get over this...
---------------------------------------------------
So, this was random. The white female is Mistletoe and the brown male is Streak. Completely new, but I'l probably keep them. I left both noses and Streak's eyes, since they were already the perfect color. I hope that was ok! If you guys like this, I might write the story on a thread on CS or make it into an oekaki story.
