I am not sure if this is what you were hoping for, I generally dabble in realism. But I hope it helps. A rats body is small and compact but they got a lot of loose skin, generally you don't see a lot of distinct creases where the legs meet the body, the haunch is more hinted at by the way the fur lays. The top of the head is sorta flat, with the ears on the sides, and usually meets the body around shoulder-height, rats don't hold their heads up like a dog of cat, so much as tilt their heads back, or raise up on two feet.
I tried to show a couple helpful little doodles on the edges.

I'm not so good with fluffy.. Uhm, sinse rats are usually sleek, I'd think chubbier + lotsa fur texture. lol
