Show name:

Gender: Female
Number: 8

History:
If I left you in the night,
Would you remember me?
Would you cry? Would you smile?
All I know is that it's my time.
I love you Cake.
I always will.
Cake sniffled as another tear rolled down her soft furry cheek.
It was the first aniversary of the kennel club fires and her mother's death
Actually, the fire didn't kill her but she was badly injured while Cake was only a year old. Cake was playing with her toys when a fire broke out. Her father managed to get her out safely, but her mother was trapped inside.
Her spine was twisted and numerous bones cracked and chipped from a support beam in the roof that had fallen on her. Her mother had written her that letter when she was in the veterinarian's surgery, about to be put to sleep where she would feel no more pain because of the extent of her injuries.
Cake broke into a full fledged howl. It's eerily spooky sad note rung through out the yard. She missed her mother terribly and wished they had never decided to cheer on her mother's best friend in the competition that day.
Cake stopped her howling and burst into a new bout of tears. Her father silenty snuck into the yard and sat next to her, his tail draped across hers.
She looked down at her collar, then at her father and undid the locket on her collar.
The was a picture of her mother, her father and one of her. One for each tiny frame in the locket.
Today was her big competition day. She vowed that she would win for her mother.
After the big show, Cake placed first and smiled to the cloudless blue sky.
She knew it was a sign her mother was happy.
She knew all was well.
