These are the two main characters of my novel, Until Tommorow.
Excerpt from story:
One by one all the others leave. Soon I am alone with him, my hand pressed against his chest. Every so often he moans, only to fall back into the dark sleep. I lean forward, kissing his cheek. His head turns, and he moans again, but his chest starts to rise and fall evenly. He’ll be all right. He has to be.
Jerem opens his eyes again, slowly, and I bend down close to him. He smiles and kisses my cheek. I gasp softly, watching as the wound closes underneath my fingers. Grasping my hand, Jerem sits up, kissing me on the shoulder. I look up at him, my lips meeting his. Then I loss myself in him, the joy of not losing him overpowering all other things. I never want this moment of pure bliss to end. I just want to stay in his arms forever.
Jerem pulls away for a moment, smiling. He strokes my cheek. Blinking slowly, I stand, turning. Jerem grabs my hand, but I pull away, whirling around.
“No.” I whisper, backing away. I look down at my hands, turning them over. Shaking my head, I turn and run. The change has already begun. I’m becoming a monster, just like my parents, like my brother, like Samantha. I was already different. It was too late to turn back.
