I needed a trotting horse editable and I was tired of using someone else's lines. I hope a got the anatomy right. I'm pretty sure I did. I go through wolf phases and horse phases. Sometimes I get their anatomy mixed up. If there are any critiques/comments on how to better it, I would GREATLY appreciate the advice.

Great job! I do have some friendly criticism though, you made the back very straight. A horses composition looks better when the back is arched down slightly. I know what you mean by getting the anatomy mixed up. I draw wolves and horses and sometimes my wolf will come out looking like a horse. When I see that I pull out a new piece of paper and draw a horse. :) Other than the back I think it looks great. (I have been studying and drawing horses for about 6 years now! :D I just remembered that!)

The back does need and arch in it, but the back isn't always arched down. It all depends on the breed. Well bred Thoroughbreds [Which is what this horse is based off of] have a concave back which leads up to their slightly taller hindquarters. :)Consequently, when the horse is at the apex of their stride[As shown in this drawing] the back will be arched concavely. This was also drawn with a mouse so it will naturally be a bit...bad... However, when it comes to thoroughbreds and horses in general, I'm pretty good with anatomy.[I've been drawing horses since I was 6 which is 8 years and I run and jump thoroughbreds. :)] With a pencil and paper anyway. My newest line art is a bit more accurate. Check it out in my last post on here.

I didn't think about that. You're right! Gosh, now I feel stupid. I didn't know you used a mouse! I can't draw digital art period, but definitely not with a mouse! I use my tablet and my digital art still comes out bad. Well done! (I didn't mean to sound snobby when I said I had been drawing horses for 6 years. I had just remembered so I typed it. Whatever pops into my head gets typed. That's how I am :) )

It's okay. I just like having the right facts. It's the same with any horses such as German warmbloods and Russian trotters. I also do all of my art with a mouse as my tablet is broken.

I'm sorry about your table. Maybe you could give me some lessons on digital horse art some day. ^^
