Do you know where it says "layer 1" on one of the side toolbars? It's in the lower right corner by default, I think. If you add a layer (the + button on the bottom), which automatically becomes Layer 2, it creates another plane in your drawing (like, geometrical plane). Just make sure Layer 2 in underneath the other on the toolbar, and it'll be behind the layer with your lines, and you can color/erase/whatever there and it won't affect your lines. Clcik on a layer to go to it, and the shaded one it whatever one you're on. Hope this isn't confusing, and that I helped ^^

OH! :X I forgot that the first layer you colored on - the default one - is white, not transparent. If you erase the white, the color underneath will show up. Unfortunately, that'll look a little messy (at least when I do it) and I don't know how to transfer lines without the color around it. Sorry, but maybe you can trace it onto an empty layer, with no background?
