Haha, I happen to really like the third and fifth panel. Poor Sam, being Ellie-handles.... *tsk tsk* anyway, here's the next page; comments are welcome and loved! Enjoy~ <333
Page Eighteen:
"Okay, so now that you have completely disregarded everything I have said, broken into my house, packed up a suitcase that I may or may not be unpacking later into my closet, and found out the not-that-amazing abilities of my room; would you PLEASE tell me how you read my thought mail that wasn't to you?" I plead.
"Alright, alright." Sam smiles and slides closer to me again, making my chest tighten up; I hold my breath and flex my muscles.
"Why cant you just tell me?" I say with the least amount of breathing I can manage.
"Easier to show you," he is not just inches from my face, and still slowly coming closer. I squeeze my eyes shut, and line my lips. "Do you see it?" he asks, and when I open my eye his face is directly in front of mine- foreheads almost touching. I let out a little yelp and he jumps back with a startled look on his face. I take a deep breath and look again, thankful he is further away now.
"How do you have..." I begin, trying to process what I see.
"Eye screens?" he offers.
"Yes! How!? Are you nineteen???" I pause and step back, realizing that he is a good two years older than me if he is. Its not allowed to speak to people of the opposite gender who are older than you.
"No, I'm only eighteen- but I didn't want to wait." he beams.
"Still shouldn't be talking to you." I mumble, but I know its not my concern. "How'd you get them then? Your only granted them if you are nineteen and a citizen of a district. Are the rules different in other districts? I have only been to my district and Tanka-District...."
"No, its not different. The thing is; you can either wait for them... or you can steal them." he grins mischievously.
"You can STEAL eye screens? How, aren't they like surgically implanted into your brain to project to your eyes?"
"Well, I know someone who specials in the art of surgery." he says with a fake accent.
I laugh, "Who is it! I have been dying for eye screens."
"You'll have to wait for that just a little longer... sorry."
"Your so secretive about it."
"Well you'll get them if you come with me."
"Lets go then!!!" I cheer.
Sam raises an eyebrow, "So your coming?"
"Crap...." I say, loosing the luster of my joy.
