Tobias
Fighting to stay conscious, Tobias drew himself up, the look on his face hiding the pain that was resonating through his entire body. He saw Hazle fight the angel valiantly, doing her best to deter the angel no matter what pain her own injury was causing her. When he was finally able to control both his own failing body and the knife, he realized it was too late for him to fight back. I guess this is it, he thought. Alyx will be okay, he mused, a pang of sadness shooting through his heart. She always has been. As the angel's wings shot out of his back and he flung himself up into the air, Tobias cringed, knowing that there was nothing he could do. He saw the dragon behind the angel preparing to attack, but he knew that there was little that could be done. Time seemed to stop as another resounding bullet was loosed from the unforgiving demon killer. He felt another shockwave of pain, this time originating from the area just below his sternum, the shock bringing him to his knees. A strangled yell wrenched itself out of his throat, his hand shooting towards the new wound. He forced himself to look back up at the angel, seeing that a moment after the shot had been fired, Hazle had attacked with a ferocity that was neither animal nor human. Part of him watched with sadistic pleasure as Hazle literally tore the hunter limb from limb, the fire of hatred burning in her eyes. Tear him apart, Tobias thought as he looked at the grisly and gruesome scene before him. Once Hazle had finished with her onslaught of the horrid creature that had attacked them, he saw her look at him concernedly, her bright green eyes shining in stark contrast from her blood splattered muzzle. He gave her a shaky grin. "You know," he choked, tasting blood that was making its way through his body on his tongue. "We make a pretty good team. Nice moves there, Hazle." He coughed, his blood spattering the pavement. His body convulsed momentarily and his eyes rolled back in his head, and as his body slumped onto the bloodied pavement, everything went back.
Alyx
Alyx's body shook as she felt Jace wrap his arms around her and set her onto the ground. "Yeah, I suppose walking would be best," Alyx said, shaking her head. Suddenly, she felt another sharp pain, this time in her stomach. She gasped again, stumbling slightly. And then she felt nothing at all. Her heart stopped with dread. "Tobias, no," she whispered. She dragged her eyes back to Jace, trying to keep the tears that stung them from flowing down her pale cheeks. "We have to find him," she said shortly. "And soon." With that, she strode in the direction of the theatre, hoping Jace would follow her. She knew it was ridiculous and childish for her to think this way, but even though she had only just met the dark haired, blue eyed angel, but his presence comforted her for some reason. It was as if he was able to take the edge off of her anxiety, and with the possibilities of what lied before her, she desperately needed that.
