Alice nodded skipping to the last book. She carefully opened the cover.

There was a single picture in that sketch book. A girl huddled in a corner with her had on her knees and she was hugging her knees, hair was covering her face as she had a hood up, in dark letters beside it was labeled, "They called her the girl that couldn't break..... Only few knew she was already broken."

"Wow..." Alice said observing the details. "Who is that?" She asked tilting her head slightly.

Mason looked down, "My younger cousin. She hanged herself." mason said with a short sigh. he closed his eyes for a long time not looking up. The memories rushing back to him.

Alice left the sketch book open on the table as she rushed over to Mason "Mason... I am so sorry..." She said softly. She put her good hand on Mason's arm rubbing it and trying to comfort him.

Mason sighed and held her in a hug. "Its okay. it was two years ago." he stopped and sighed, "She had so much potential but was abused too."

Alice spoke softly "But she gave up..." She rested her head on Mason's chest sighing.

Mason nodded. "She gave up. It wasn't only parental abuse it was verbal and physical abuse at school. She put on an act to put up a wall seaming she was put together but inside she was always broken."

Alice sighed "It must have been hard for her..." She murmured looking up at him. She knew what parental abuse was. Being beaten, being told your awful, it was hard but she would never give up. "Didn't she knoew someone loved her?" She asked her eyes not leaving Mason.

Mason turned his gaze to her. "She only knew that i loved her. She was like my little sister. If only i had been there more for her. Maybe i could have helped her." he sighed "When she died that when i started to do drugs."
