"I heard you." Manabe said simply. "And why hide it? Some people see tears as a sign of strength, not something to be ashamed of." He came to the boat and started to walk up the ramp, still carrying Terezi over his shoulder.

GAH! I wasn't making any sounds you retarded bastard! I didn't move though. I didn't want to fall, we were out of the water already and I didn't want to die today. I started to breath through my nose again. Manabe started to smell of Salty vanilla. "Not being able to see is a burden. I may have told Arisu it was fine but I'm not fine with it. Because of her dragon I can't see anyone anymore and I never will. I can't have a normal life with anyone and everyone thinks I'm weird and pathetic."

"Well, do you think you're weird and pathetic?" Manabe asked her, walking to where the cabins were. He had to admit, it felt good to be out of the water.

People only do things to get me to stop talking, to stop being obnoxious and annoying. "I don't know anymore," I said frowning. The air cleared up more and it smelt like we were going to the cabins. I could sense his mind, I don't think anyone really cared, they only felt pity for me and treated me unfairly because of my fire scorched eyes.

"Veleno once told me, 'It matters not what people see on the outside, what counts most is what people see on the inside.' Don't judge yourself based on your appearance. For example, the phrase, 'Love at first sight,' is a rather biased and selfish opinion. It means falling in love with someone based on how they look, not their personality, which is the most important part of a person." Manabe said to her, trying to make her happier.

"On the inside huh?" I asked. Tears started coming out again but I didn't make a sound. I didn't want him to turn around and look. On the inside I was as pathetic as I am on the outside. "No. That term is applied only when you feel a bond towards the person without meeting them yet," I told him and wiped the tears away. "Where are we now anyway?"

Manabe stopped and put her down. He was a long way from her cabin, but he refused to take her any farther if she continued to act that way. "I'll admit. When I first met you, I was a bit creeped out. It's not everyday a random girl walks up to and licks your cheek, saying, 'You taste like vanilla.' But you have to learn to love yourself. That is how people will learn to love you. You can't be liked when you feel insecure about yourself. Despite how weird you were at first, I learned you are a loyal, reliable friend that can be counted on. First impressions never count." he said.

"How can I love myself? I was a stupid little girl who thought a dragon would be friendly!" I yelled at him then sat on the floor. "I lost my sight because of that and I can't see anything. Nothing. There was no magic that could help me, no medicine, no skilled mage." I stood up and walked towards one of the stairs leading towards the other cabins. "I can walk from here," But as I did I tripped and started to fall.

Manabe caught her around the waist and pulled her back up before making her sit on the floor. "Yeah, and I was an arrogant two-year-old that thought he could stay home while his parents went on a trip and look what happened! Train derailment, no survivors! Maybe you should stop moping around and live your life!" he yelled back at her, turning and storming out of the cabin area.

I sat down and smiled, "I've met someone mother, someone who treats me normally." I thought for a moment live my life? Wonder what that could mean. I reached for his mind and stopped him from getting further away then I ran after him. "Well,I'm bored What would you like to do now?" I asked with my tears gone. I covered my body with flames, drying my clothes instantly.
