Officers are listed in command order, though should it come to a medical crew member, the next non-medical crew member would be the one to take over the command. On ordinary days however the chain of command is the order they are listed in. Medical crew members can remove officers above or below them from active duty for valid medical reasons. A list of inactive officers will be above the civilians and the civilians will be in the civilian section and last of all are the recurring characters.Fit for Duty
Captain Cressidia Rhonda Lane
Captain Cressidia Rhonda Lane is 35 years old. She makes a good captain, and loves what she does. She has an adoptive brother and sister, and her parents love all of them. Cressidia tries to be a friend to her crew, not wanting them to feel that she is just another commanding officer that doesn't matter. This is her most important feature in the view of Starfleet, and this is what they will be monitoring most in her next commission on the Starfire. ((zippyzoo77, page 2))
First Officer Nathaniel Chadouin
Nathaniel Chadouin rose through the ranks in Starfleet to become first officer. He was assigned to the Starfire by Starfleet to counteract Captain Lane's personableness, as the man who assigned him, Admiral Preet, is a sour sort of man who can't stand friendly, competent people. That's the official reason, but the unofficial one is that Chadouin manipulated his way onto the bridge of the Starfire to blow this intergalactic taco stand. He is a capable officer, very good in a gunfight, and has a very serious demeanor which is underscored by a devastatingly subtle sense of humor. He has a permanent cough, sustained at age 23 by a run-in with acidic fumes, and as a result his voice is husky, which is evidently greatly agreeable to members of the fair sex. ((Sherlock, page 5))
Chief Engineer Ortican Rizzak
Rizzak is a bit angry with the Cardassian government, but for the most part he is pleasant to be around. Like many Cardassians, he has more 'talents' than just engineering. He is closely watched by Starfleet, but he always seems to be one step ahead of them. He isn't disloyal, and sticks by his Strafleet vows, as they are the only thing he seems loyal to. He is a skilled engineer, especially in matters of combining different technologies. He can pull Warp 9.3 out of the Starfire's engines in a pinch, though only for a couple minutes before they become too close to a breach to continue at any warp speed. 9.2 is not an issue though. ((zippyzoo77, page 4))
Helmsman Kev Desrine
Kev was born on Earth, to a human mother and a Klingon father. Growing up Kev's parents fought constantly, to the point where her father took her away to the Klingon home world, where she was raised in Klingon culture. Later she decided to join Starfleet as a pilot. For several years she worked on Mars testing shuttlecraft, and enjoyed the work thoroughly. Her skill with both flying and understanding the problems with shuttle designs makes her an ideal pilot. ((Peryton, page 14))
Doctor Tarah Shran
26 year old Andorian, Lieutenant Tarah Shran is a calm, collected officer. She can be a bit cool and distant towards Vulcans, but, unlike most of her race, is slightly friendlier towards humans. She is intelligent, and it shows, but can be rather difficult to get on with, seeing as she prefers the company of books and computers. Whenever possible, she buries herself in her work, but while she's off duty, she enjoys practicing the piano, writing medical papers on a variety of subjects, and reading classic Earth novels. ((~Scotland's Pond~, page 4))
Doctor Jal'shiar Torrel
Jal'shiar Torrel is the only Klingon doctor in Starfleet. After 10 years of living with humans, she has an odd mix of customs that is seldom seen elsewhere. She keeps her hair much tidier than many Klingons, but it would still be considered somewhat messy for the humans' taste. She loves Earth histories, their early battles are wonderful in thier ruthlessness. Unfortunately they just got more and more boring as the humans got more technology. As a doctor she is quite skilled, but her bedside manner is by far that of a Klingon. Unlike many doctors she doesn't bother healing bruises and cuts and that sort of thing. Painkillers are used quite infrequently, and only when extremely necessary. ((zippyzoo77, page 9))
Head Nurse Vayriane Rain Faeling
Vayriane is very good at what she does. She has wonderful people skills and a gentle manor that makes her relaxing to be around. She is good at helping people, and is smart enough to think for her self. She respects those around her, but if they are constantly awful to her, she gets snooty. She is a fun person to be around when she is not working. She enjoys the holodeck and reading. ((Kanaria, page 2))
Leuitenant Nirel Arthur
Graduated Starfleet Academy with flying colors; notable for great efficiency and skilful execution of tasks. Has unbearable work ethic and tendency to overwork. Endurance high, resourcefulness higher, self-reliance off the charts. In the academy a definite disregard for authority was prominent. Upon entry into Starfleet, this has quelled somewhat, although it is still present. An authority must gain respect before receiving it, which can be crippling on the bridge. Possesses a fair skill in manipulating people. Hobbies include intergalactic philately and concert-level violin playing. ((Sherlock, page 2))
Leuitenant Kimony Cela
Kimony is a very stubborn scientist who rarely agrees with anyone that doesn't share her views. She doesn't give up easily, but if there is sufficient evidence in the other direction she has been known to switch to the other side of the argument, where she will be very persuasive to others. Despite her stubborn personalities, she is still a very good scientist, never doing anything to harm her work. She has odd ways of showing her feelings, they often seem like a code that only the people closest to her can decode. When she is in trouble, she thinks most of her closest brother. ((zippyzoo77, page 11))
Ensign Chissa Gilx
Chissa Gilx is a joined Trill. She is zany and funny. She is very smart and confident. She is always laughing and cheerful. She likes to talk. She is very candid and will speak her mind. She is a wiz at her job, communications, and it shows. She has a relatively young symbient, only three other hosts have had it before her. She has many people she cares about, who care about her. She is very strong willed and will never give up. She will fight for what she believes in and what she believes is right. ((Kanaria, page 13))
Transport Chief Richard Evan Meagher
Ricky Meagher was drafted into Starfleet by his enterprising father, who couldn't bear to watch his son play his life away. Or rather, his father became tired of footing the bill and bailing the kid out while he played his life away. Rick has never really had a very good grasp on reality, and tends towards recklessness and an utter lack of responsibility. He came from a rich family, and never wanted for anything. As a result, he got bored. His father thrust him through Starfleet academy (which, despite himself, he enjoyed) and drop-kicked him into the position of Transport Chief by pulling strings in order to punish Rick for a particularly flamboyant piece of dumb-*ssery which got splashed all across the news. So now Ricky gets to sit in front of the transporter all day, thinking about what he's done. ((Sherlock, page 8))
Unfit for Duty
Head Doctor S'Blen
S'Blen lived a fairly normal life on Vulcan, as the youngest of four children. When he was old enough he left his home world for Earth, and there joined Starfleet, where he started training to become an interstellar doctor. Because of his lack of emotion, he prefers to let the nurses take care of the social portion of doctoring. His oldest brother was also affiliated with Starfleet, but died on an Away Mission. Although he has managed to gain almost complete control of his emotions revolving around this incident, it is still a touchy subject. ((Peryton, page 17))
Chief of Security Slyntal Maria Vahn
Vahn is not exactly your average fleeter. Pressed into service first in the Tal Shiar (Romulan Intelligence Agency), and later defecting to the Federation, her experiences with the galaxy have been... varied, to say the least. Her best talents are in the computer science areas, specifically hacking, but is a capable field agent. She walks with a slight limp in her left leg, a souvenir from a mission with the Ferangi gone wrong, and is paranoid to a fault. She's not the most social person you'll ever meet, more likely to be found on the outskirts of a party, watching, than in the middle of it, but is very good at what she does. The only recreational activity that she'll ever admit to is fencing. ((.:Scared Bob:., page 3))
Civilian Population
Ascariat Jula
Ascariat Jula is a Bajoran archaeologist with two children, Delta and Derion, who were conceived when she and Ortican Rizzak were involved during his incarceration in her rebel cell during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Jula has a strong work ethic and loves her archaeology, but still harbors some of the traits that gave her the position of rebel leader. That is to say, she is capable of quick, decisive action and also of assessing risks. She smiles easily and her children adore her; she in turn dotes upon her children. The only thing she has ever hidden from them is the identity of her father. ((Sherlock, page 5))
Ascariat Delta
Delta has long brown hair, similar to that of her mother, though slightly lighter. She is about average height for her age, and slightly underweight, but not enough to be of concern. She can often be found with dirt on her hands from planting plants, because they are one of the things she enjoys most. She loves the outdoors, and she even has a simple holodeck program of a garden that she loves to play in. She can often be found wearing short dresses or pants, and no shoes. Her Cardassian features are not shown in the picture, but they are not terribly noticeable. Most noticeable are her neck ridges, which, though still smaller than most Cardassians’ would be at this age, are not very much smaller. Her face appears nearly Bajoran with only a slight raise on her forehead and small facial ridges. ((zippyzoo77, page 6))
Lyssa Dannan
Lyssa Dannan is an intelligent but fierce-tempered woman. She has an extreme dislike for Cardassians, as they invited her homeworld of Bajor, a grudge she doesn't believe she'll ever get over, though, she is always cordial with other species. Sometimes, she may seem a bit paranoid, because she is a spy and she is always worried, for her son's sake, that she'll be caught. For the most part, she is quite comfortable with her role as ship's botanist, as even though she spent most of her childhood travelling between refugee camps, she was always fascinated by plants. When she's not spying or engulfed in her duties, Dannan enjoys chatting with her son. ((~Scotland's Pond~, page 4))
S'harien iMhiessan Ralaa
S'harien iMhiessan Ralaa is the ship's janitor. The Starfire has been his domain for eons, comparatively. He is basically a facet of the ship herself, having had permanent quarters there for as long as he's been a space-janitor. He attempted Starfleet when he was younger but never took to that officer stuff. He still desired to go into space, however, and appealed to his sponsor, Commodore Ralleston, to remove the robotic cleanup crew from the Starfire and let him take her instead. Ralleston agreed, and S'harien has been there ever since, waving his techno-mop at crewmembers who try to make his acquaintance and frowning ferociously. ((Sherlock, page 8))
Recurring Characters
Lieutenant Conner Samuel Lane
Connor is the adopted younger brother of Captain Cressidia Lane. He is an lieutenant ranked engineer that works on Starbase 234. He is well noted for being able to repair highly damaged equiptment, especially weapons. Whenever the Starfire is docked there, you can expect to see him around. ((zippyzoo77, page 2))
