Jake pushed himself of Rune. He muttered a lake of unprintable cusswords. He looked back, across the street. At Alia. What the heck was he going to do? His Darkness would want to be seeing him soon. Jake decided he might as well take a walk around New York City, enjoyed his freedom while it lasted.
Alia groggily woke up. Her side hurt like the dickens. "My bow...where's my bow?" she thought. She noticed it by her side on the hospital bed, with the arrows. Odd of the staff to let her keep it. She picked it up, and climbing out of the gurney carefully, made her way to the door, carrying her bow. She was still dressed in her blood-soaked jeans and shirt, though the blood was dry now. She painfully made her way to the door, and opened it.
Jake heard the door open, and his eyes swung to the hospital. His Alia, his beautiful, lovely Alia. Was standing in the door of the hospital, carrying her bow. He looked at Amaya. "Nothing," he snapped.
Alia's eyes widened, in a bit of fear. Her heart swelled, tossing and turning emotions. There was fear, hate, and one other thing. Love. Inpenatrable, never-ending, forever lasting love.
Jake briskly walked over to her. And took her in his arms.
Alia gave in weakly, crying into Jake's shirt.
"Alia, I am so, so sorry," Jake said, hugging her, tightly enough, but not hurting her.
"I know," Alia said tiredly.
Jake picked Alia up, and cradled her to his chest. He asked. "Where's your apartment?"
Alia gave him a look. "We can't go back," she said, and then fell asleep.
Jake looked at Alia sadly. He grew his Dark wings, which had gone a few shades lighter, and he growled when he saw them. How to get his wings black again? He flew to a clearing, far away from the city, and got to work. He set down Alia on a cloud bed, covered her with cloud blankets, and layed down beside her. She turned to him, and wrapped her arms around his chest, and fell asleep again.
