Max grinned. "Although, when you get good enough maybe I'll carve you a bow." she said, shaping a piece of driftwood about the size of her head into a rough disk. "And some arrows. Then you can shoot at her all you want."

"If I didn't, who would?" he said, laughing. She poked the deer with a stick, checking to see how well it was cooked, and decided it wasn't quite done. She went back to carving discs of wood.

"exacaly." he said, he looked at Max as she cavered the wood.

By the time the deer was done cooking, Max had seven neatly carved wooden throwing discs. She pulled the rock off of the fire, but left the fire burning in case they needed anything else cooked or burned.

Kiki appeared back at camp after a morning walk through the woods. She looked over at Cash and Max and then sighed, thinking of her fiance back home.
