Star cocked her head, something in her eyes, a sliver of green, possibly. "Actually, I might be able to," she said, voice tight. "We can try first, though."
Dusk nodded then slowly, perhaps reverently, untied her necklace and handed it carefully to Star. "Just don't drop it." She joked, though a hint of uneasiness crept into her voice.
Star gave a small smile, looking at the crystal as she took it. "Don't worry," she said, lifting her face to the sky. "Ready to see if we can get this thing and go home?" she asked, testing the crystal with a small golden tendril of light to see if it worked for her, something flickered across her face, but was gone in seconds.
Dusk pinned her ears flat as the Crystal flickered darkly in response to the light. After a few moments it gave off a chilling white glow that gradually got warmer. As though it were trying to please her. "Heh... I'm ready when you are." She grinned and faced the sky.
Relief traced Star's face. "Great," she said, a golden glow spreading, then engulfing them. The world momentarily went black, then was replaced by a hallway. Star slumped against a wall, the crystal still in her grip, eyes suddenly dull. "Let's find the stone and get out of here," she muttered, blankly looking around.
Dusk made a muted hissing sound and put a hand to her head, shrinking away from the light. She fell to her knees in the hall and stayed there for a minuet, waiting for the throbbing in her mind to subside.
"Here," Star said, holding out the crystal, eyes still dull and half-closed. Quickly, she doused the light that still surrounded her until it was a just a dim glow.
Blade left the room not yet sure what to think of the images he just saw. He walked down the hallway looking for a place to sleep. He opened a door only to find Rouge sleeping in the bed. Henoticed that her boots and objects were removed and around the bed so he figured he couldn't ask her to leave and get another room. He closed the door and went on down the hall. He found a room with a pod, much like the ones in the room he just left, except this one wasn't ment for growing and monitoring experiments. Blade entered and noticed that the pod was much like a bed with a matress on the inside, it was almost like a coffin. Blade climbed in and noticed a pannel that had a clock with alarm settings, so this was a bed afterall. Blade climbed in and set an alarm for the morning. The pod closed and a small hum filled the pod. Two beams of light shot from the area near the head which entered Blade's ears and went into the brian triggering a deep sleep. Blade fell fast into a very deep sleep as the pod glowed a blue color illuminating the room.
Misdirection is the key to survival. Never attack when your enemy defends, never behave as your enemy expects, and never reveal your true strength. If knowledge is power, then to be unknown is to be unconquerable.
Dusk curled her fingers over the Crystal, sighing softly in relief as it returned to it's dark color. "Thanks." She looked over at Star and blinked, her eyes adjusting to the dim light. "I've never gotten used to teleportation..."
Star smirked. "I'm almost sad to say I have. Drains energy like you wouldn't believe." Slolwly, the star stood up, wobbling a bit and using the wall for balance.
