Kage smiled, "guess I do." She gave a small laugh, "as far as I've known you, no, no you're not a grumpy person." She stiffened in surprise and just looked at him with a surprised expression for a moment before she looked down. "A-Aiden... I..." She trailed off, falling quiet and biting her bottom lip lightly.

Johnathan didn't know he felt at the moment, he couldn't pick out an individual emotion when a ton all mushed together. It was to the point of overwhelming and he simply stopped where he had been standing, and stared blankly ahead, his expression completely unreadable. The only thing really that proved he wasn't a statue was his breathing. He stood there like that for a couple minutes before he started walking again, his expression still unreadable, not saying anything.

Aiden bit his lip and frowned a bit, "Right... Okay, I'm gonna go hide out of the way now. Kind of awkward... Hm..." Aiden glanced off to the ceiling and moved away a little bit, "Shall we go find cookies now...?"

Deryn frowned a little and waited until his dad started to move again. "Dad... Please don't do that... It freaks me out..." He pulled Johnathan around a corner and over to a doorway when they finally reached the Thorn chambers. He knocked on the door, and stepped inside when it was opened. Henry was meandering around the darkened room that was filled with stacks of papers that he'd written all over, as he usually did, except now there was a frown on his face as if he was trying to remember something.

Kage rubbed the back of her neck with a sheepish look, "I'm sorry." She murmured, still looking at the ground. She gave a small nod when he suggested to look for cookies. She looked at the ground a moment before glancing at him and tentatively held out her hand.

Johnathan didn't say anything in response to Deryn, and just let himself be pulled around a corner. He remained quiet, his hands now in the pockets of his jeans as he stared at the door until it opened. He followed Deryn in quietly, and glanced around the dark room before he saw Henry. He watched him for a moment, "Hey Henry."

Aiden frowned a little and took Kage's hand after a moment as if he was unsure of his actions. "Why- um... Why did you let me kiss you then...?" Aiden mumbled quietly as he led the way down the tunnel in search of cookies.

Henry frowned at Johnathan when he spoke, and then at Deryn, "Is he related to you? You look similar." Henry started rummaging through the papers on the table, and then doubled over in pain and fell to the floor when the pale fleshy creature that had been irritating his kids earlier appeared rather suddenly and slammed it's hand against Henry's chest. The creature hissed at Johnathan and Deryn and disappeared as soon as it had arrived.

Kage walked quietly, brushing hair from her face from her free hand, "because I really, really, really like you?" She looked at him with a mixed expression of a confused and questionable look. She really didn't know how to answer the question besides that... she didn't get what he was exactly asking... she would hope that he would know her well enough that if she didn't want the kiss, she wouldn't have kissed him back, probably would have just punched him and then gone and hide in some bush that supposedly was in the tunnels.

Johnathan had to hide the hurt and sad feelings from showing when Henry didn't recognized him, and did an ok job at doing so. No matter how much he had braced himself for the fact that Henry might not recognized him, it still had a huge impact on him. "I'm his father, Johnathan. You don't remember me then... do you...?" He blinked as Henry suddenly fell to the ground and took a small step forward to go toward shim and help him to his feet, but when the creature appeared, he stopped in confusion, though he didn't stop long. Whatever it was, it wasn't good. The silver daggers that where on his forearms fell into his hands and in a fast movement they were in the air towards the creature, but it disappeared before the daggers could make a mark, so instead they hit the wall, just missing a stack of the papers. "What the hell was that??" It took a lot of will to keep his voice from raising much for the sake of Deryn's head. He went over to Henry and knely down, resting a hand gently on his shoulder, "you alright?"

Aiden frowned a little, "Isn't that the same as love? You kiss someone if you love them. Like is for friends." He could smell food, so he headed in that direction. "Love is for kissing, hugging, boyfriends, girlfriends, and in your case, cookies." He smiled faintly, "We have different meanings of the word."

Henry glanced up at Johnathan and smiled a little, "Fine Counilor, just had a dizzy moment... Wait.... Where on earth are we...?" Henry looked around, bewildered, and frowned at Johnathan. "I swear we were just in the infirmary because I dislocated my shoulder again... Have we been teleported?" He finally spotted Deryn, "You're a Kane I guess? Why are we here...? And have you got any painkillers? My chest suddenly hurts quite a bit..."

Deryn frowned and crouched down next to Johnathan and Henry, "Henry... What year is it?"

"Well you must have been hibernating well, it's two thousand and five... Can we go back to the council island now? I've got to go make sure the kids aren't causing trouble."

"Not for me it isn't..." Kage murmured and listened quietly. She gave small chuckle, nodding at the cookies part and then sighed in a small relief, "well, it defiantly has two different meanings then from where we come from. Much different.... geese mini confused misunderstanding-heart attacks gosh." She was referring to the fact that they both had come awkward from the misunderstanding of how they each knew the word. "It's a mix from where I come from. Like is like friends as well, though there is also a like like, which is a mix of love for you, if that makes sense." She smiled faintly, "love is... I guess a much stronger feeling of it for me."

Johnathan was instantly confused at the moment Henry called him councilor, and becoming extremely confused on where he was. He looked at Deryn with a bewildered look before looking back to Henry. He waited for Henry to be done, his expression becoming more confused as he tried to remember what he was talking about, before he spoke, "um... Henry... are you feeling alright...? It's not two thousand and five... add seven years..." He crouched there for a second before hugging his friend tightly, "you're confusing. Ask Deryn what's going on, I just found out of stuff and am extremely confused. Oh, and, we are on the council island..."

Lars whined, "I have issues with pain..." he mumbled and winced as he was elbowed, he whined again rubbing the place, "you're one mean girl Angela..." he muttered for a moment forgetting about the nurse. H sighed and ate other spoon of ice cream then calming down.

Aiden kissed Kage's cheek, and playfully swung their arms about, a lot happier now he understood the misunderstanding from earlier. "I really really like you then." He pulled Kage a little closer and put his arms around her gently for a moment, before letting her out of the hug so they could walk side by side again.

Henry raised his eyebrows, "Why wold I ask Deryn what's going on? He's sixteen and at school." Henry returned Johnathan's hug and smiled a little, "How exactly do you look younger anyway? Is it the light?" He pulled away a little and got to his feet, pulling Johnathan up with him. "This is the council island? Wow... Where on the council island are we? This place looks like it hasn't seen the light of day for ages." He waved his hand, "Yeah, whatever you say. Look, I know it's two thousand and five, I've not lost seven years in a blink of an eye."

Deryn frowned a little and prodded Henry's forehead, which earned him a slapped arm. "Whatever that thing was... I think it just gave Henry's soul back..."

Henry raised his eyebrows, "Oh so Johnathan's paid you to confuse me...? You're both good actors, but I'm not that easily confused."

Angela shrugged, "I grew up with three brothers, I just know how to insult them very well." She watched the nurse with interest and took another spoonful of ice cream. "Can you stitch his leg on the wrong way around?"

Lars widened his eyes, "No!" he almost yelped and looked at the nurse, "No way, don't listen to her" he whined and glared at Angela and smacked her around the head weakly, "shush" he muttered and sighed softly eating more ice cream, he looked at the nurse again, "can you finish this faster?"
