"Honestly, I didn't know." Deryn chuckled and shook his head, holding up his hands. "I was talking with my wife about something. She keeps claiming my dad has come back to life. So I kept claiming I was a zebra." He pointed to the many black scars that he seemed to sport from the werewolf attack that he'd been in. He frowned a little at the pair of curse marks that Cordell was hiding, curious as to why one seemed to be moving and why he'd gone through the pain of an angelic mark. He left the secrets to Cordell however, he wasn't that bothered in all honesty. Even though many people would disagree, Deryn didn't really enjoy knowing people's secrets, they seemed to think it entitled them to hate him.

"A haunted house...?" Jackson questioned, wondering if Lars was mad enough that he thought this was 1960 or something like that. "Right whatever, sure." He nodded and shrugged, he preferred roller coasters but he didn't really care nonetheless and Risky was apparently not commenting so he could do what he liked.

Destruction, death and horror!

Trinity lay on the shelf, watching Esme get her head around what was on the papers and yawned tiredly. "They followed no laws, this is why the angels left Earth. The majority of the files refer to the experiments on me and Damien, since we apparently are the only successful hybrids they managed to breed. But there were hundreds of kids that were experimented on, not just the random kidnapped hunter kid but they took kids from orphanages across the country. They all died or went crazy, I'm not going to tell you how they managed it in the end because I hate being what I am and wouldn't wish it on anyone else. It hurt. Didn't you think it funny that after Damien was born he didn't show up at home for two years? Did you get told the story that he had a weak heart and had to remain in hospital. My parents are liars..." She trailed off to start pushing around papers with her nose, looking for something else. "I wasn't going to tell you what I was because I thought you'd trust me less than you already do, but you'll likely never trust me anyway so go ahead and kill me or whatever you're obligated to do-- found it!" She shoved a piece of paper to the floor. "That is the list of how many people the council experimented on. There's hundreds of names on it."

.* Abigail Atlas *.

Abigail had no assignments, and haven't really had any in the last day. Not since the incident at Horia Academy, with the vampires and all. She was worked like crazy during and after that, but now things were slow, and until someone needed a message delivered somewhere Abby was staying in Lii. That was all right with her. Lii was a pretty place, all bright and sunny, and lots of places to go. Today she thought she might spend some time in the library. It wasn't that bright, except for the sunshine through the windows, but it had picture books and Abby liked picture books. Especially the ones that were based off Earth. There was one in particular about fire engines, which was her favorite out of all. She really wanted her own fire engine, but she was told she couldn't, so Abby had to settle for looking at them.

Abby ran around, arms spread out like she was flying (she could fly, but she wanted to run), and made whooshing sounds all the way until she made it to the library. When she opened the door, she put a finger to her lips in a silencing gesture, and walked right inside. Libraries smelled nice, and Abby liked cathedrals, so it was a double bonus for her in Lii. Being as quick as possible, without running, Abby directed herself to the basement, where picture books usually were (not many took the time for books without any words, especially ones about fire engines). And since the basement wasn't that big of a place, compared to the upstairs, she found Damien rather quickly. Temporarily distracted from picture books, Abby steered herself in his direction, softly walking up until she stood right next to him, hands behind her back, staring at him silently.

Hearing more, seeing more, is that really living more?

Back when Damien had first found a doorway to Lii in his office, he'd been a little bit confused and ever so slightly freaked out by the angel known as Abigail, who preferred to stare at people and not talk much, but that was three years ago and he now knew it wasn't just him that she stared at as if he was a museum exhibit. Rachel had explained that it was just something Abigail did and that she'd probably either grow out of it eventually. He didn't really raise an eyebrow to her odd ways anymore, and sat up on the sofa so he wasn't taking it all up and so Abby could sit down if she wanted to.

He closed his book up and balanced it on the arm of the sofa, giving Abigail a faint but fake smile. "How are you Abby?" He moved the cushions out of the way so she could sit down and waited for one of her short answers.

Castanet had been about to reply to Griffon, but the thought of even doing so was wiped from her mind when she heard Johnathan's voice interrupt her thoughts. She just started at him as if he'd woken from the grave - which was close since she'd assumed he was dead. Quietly she reached over and gave him a good sharp prod in the shoulder to check if he was really there, which he was, which she didn't really see as good. "I'm sorry..." She whispered quietly once she'd begun to get over the shock of it, moving back to stand slightly behind Griffon. She was worried Johnathan might see fit to hit her.

- { Angєlα Décès } -
A bullet to the heart is no way to live.

She hadn't really fully expected Kage to just go and straight away smack the teacher in the face with a cake, it caused her to burst out laughing, so she took a picture with her phone as fast as she could and she sent the other cake sailing in his direction before racing off as fast as she could out of there. She laughed all the way as she ran off and collapsed to sit on the floor behind a circus tent as she waited for Kage to show up.

Sometimes, what's best for others overrules what's best for yourself.

Deryn just watched the whole scene unfold with an expression quite close to shock, which then turned into laughter. "I'm sorry I would have warned you but I didn't know they were planning that." He shook his head, covering his mouth with a hand to shut up his laughter and then made his way over to the tables, finding a few cloths which he passed to Cordell to help with the whole cake related problem. He sent a quick message to the council staff to ask them to bring a fresh change of clothes over and then searched out the mind that he was sure he'd seen somewhere before. 'Kage. That was a load of perfectly good cake you ruined, well done it was hilarious.'

"I don't think you'll have any problem with the last Cross, no one has seen him in a while." He informed her, finding what she said to make sense. He always knew that Deryn knew more than a lot of them, but he just hoped that he never became controlled by all that he knew. He glared at her. "I am not, I just find it interesting." He grumbled. A sly smirk slipped on his lips, clearly he wanted to say something, but he before he could, a motion to his side caught his attention. He looked over, expecting it to be another Councilor, or a student, not Johnathan.

Surprised crossed over his face, to say he was shocked would be an understatement. A kind of big one at that. He opened his mouth, but than closed it, looking the man up and down. Blinking, he looked at Castanet and then back, partly expecting him to be seeing things, but not this time. "Yeah." He said, kind of chuckling. "Johnathan." He greeted, the shock slipping from his expression, now he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on. He was a bit stumped, so he didn't exactly comprehand the what he looked and talked to Castanet. At least, not right away.

~Kage Pearce~
Kage had disapeared into shadows, but she had lingered in the tent to see how much of a mark Angela's cake had hit and to look at the other man briefly. She shifted out of the tent and followed closely after her friend. Once she had picked a place to hide, Kage reformed, but faltered in surprise at the voice suddenly in her head. She nearly did a faceplant into the ground before she caught herself. Her face was a mask of confusion as she sat herself back up to sit on her knees across from Angela, staring at the ground. It took her a minute to regonize Deryn's voice and then a small smile pricked her lips, 'I'm glad you aproved of it Deryn despite it being cake. Glad your alive still and not dead from eating too much cake.' She was honestly glad he was alive, and not because of the cake but the raid. That confirmed it though, that she knew of the three taht was alive, and Johnathan not being one of them. She sighed quietly, and blinked, realizing she was just sitting and staring at the ground. "Sorry- I- you-" She stumbled over her words as she looked at Angela and sighed again, "Voice in my head. You where right, it was Councilor Cross." She shrugged and then grinned, "Your cake didn't hit him full on but it still got him. His ninja skills with the cane didn't save him from it."

~Johnathan Cross~
Johnathan grinned, finding it amusing at Griffon’s reaction once he had looked away from Castanet. “You know I’d honestly expected more… I don’t know really of what though.” He chuckled quietly, shifting slightly on his feet. He looked down at where Castanet had prodded him in the shoulder before looking back up at her, his expression neutral again. “Yes, Castanet, I’m real, no need to prod me. I would actually prefer you not to touch me at all unless you'd like to be hurt.” He gave her a dagger glare and then scowled as she whispered a sorry, “Sorry for what? Poking me, or destroying my voice?” He almost found it amusing as she stepped behind Griffon as almost to get away from him. He looked to Griffon and chuckled, “You are probably unbelievably confused right now. I’d say just brush away part of the confusion with why I’m giving death stares to Castanet if that helps with any of it.” He smiled sweetly, almost like a child trying to pull a puppy dog face on a parent to distract them from their wrong, though when his eyes flitted to Castanet, they showed completely, and just to her, a ‘I’m going to kill you’ look.

.* Abigail Atlas *.

Abby rocked back and forth on her heels while Damien situated himself, and titled her head to the side a bit when he smiled at her. She blinked once or twice after he spoke, silently looking at him, and then brought a hand from behind her back and pointed at him. "Upset face." she said, her voice as soft as it always was, and her hand disappeared behind her back again. Abby always spoke in as few words as possible, sounding like she was a lot younger than ten. Damien's smile didn't look like a happy smile, and his eyes didn't have a cheerful light, so "upset face" was a perfect way to describe him. He was unhappy, and unhappy people needed hugs. Hugs were warm, and Abby always thought warmth was a nice feeling. Silently, she climbed onto Damien's lap, ignoring the space he made for her on the couch, sitting comfortably across his legs. Then she reached up and wrapped his arms around his neck, giving him a soft, gentle hug.

Abby remembered something her mother used to do, and sometimes still did, whenever she was upset, so she let go of Damien briefly, and patted the top of his head. "Pain, pain, fly away." Abby was told that it was a charm to make sadness and other painful emotions leave you alone, and although Abby knew it wasn't now, it was still rather comforting for her. Once she was done, Abby nodded, and returned to giving Damien a hug.

Castanet bit her lip and stayed behind Griffon, the guy who could turn into solid stone at will - which Castanet saw as a useful skill right now - out of the way of the cross Cross (Couldn't resist). "I was a kid it was one of the only spells I knew? What did you expect me to do when it came to attacking a demon hunter, the only other things I had in my arsenal were the ability to turn your skin orange or to make it rain. I may have gotten the spell for quietude a little muddled but I was a child!" Well she thought she'd read it to make the hunter more quiet and peaceful... He certainly was quiet but even more angry afterwards.

A bullet to the heart is no way to live.

"Huh?" Angela looked over at her friend with a frown as Kage said she was hearing voices in her head. Never a good thing. She relaxed when her friend said it was a Cross however, Angela didn't want to refer Kage to a hospital anytime soon. "You know the Cross councilor?" She grinned as Kage described that the cake had gotten Cordell despite cool ninja cane skills. "Brilliant, that is two out of four teachers that we've gotten in the face with something. Who's next?" Angela flipped out her phone and showed Kage the picture she'd taken moments ago of a cake covered Cordell. "Brilliant hit by the way."

- { Dαmíєn Stαvє } -
Hearing more, seeing more, is that really living more?

Damien let Abby climb onto his lap, he'd expected that she'd do so anyway and returned the hug to the youngster. "True, that's an upset face." Damien mumbled when Abigail pointed it out. shifting a little uncomfortably when Abigail got too close to the shoulder Esme had shot an arrow through. Smiling a little as Abby attempted to get his pain to fly away in a rather sweet manner, he sighed quietly and ran his fingers through the child's hair. He was about to tell her not to grow up since he couldn't imagine a teenager telling pain to fly away, but telling her that was probably a bad idea so he strayed away from saying such a thing. "Thanks Abby."

He sat there, quiet for a few moments before attempting to ask another question. "Did you come down here for a book?" He knew there were picture books down here, no he obviously didn't look through them - well he did look through a few to help him sort out the angelic written word in his head.

- { Cσuncílσr Dєrчn Crσss } -

'Hey cake won't kill me, I'm a zebra.' Deryn gave the quick reply to Kage before glancing over at Cordell with a faint shrug. "I feel like I should remind you you're not allowed to fatally wound the kids. Nor are you allowed to get someone else to do so for you." He smiled a little and shook his head, "Right, well I'm going to go find Casta and your Uncle because everyone seems to think people can come back from the dead." He followed Cordell to the tent entrance and slipped outside, heading in the general direction of the druid's mind.

"Nope, Damien stayed, Rachel - that's the head nurse, is in disguise. Oh- And the forest around Horia is filled with angels and we've been spying on the council because it's funny and you guys don't see us. There's this brilliant illusion spell and really, you would not guess how many times I've danced on the table in the middle of a councilor meeting." Trinity looked up at Esme and tilted her head to the side slightly, frowning at her cousin. "No problem. But you can't tell the council. If you do I'm leaving for the Otherworld permanently and Damien would leave for Lii. We kept this secret for a reason... Anyway, Deryn mentioned that you needed the family files relating to powers. It's over here." She jumped down from the shelf she was sat on and crossed the room, batting at a particularly large box with a paw. "It got pretty big because there was me to experiment on..."

.* Abigail Atlas *.

"Ah!" Abigail sat up, reminded of the whole purpose of her venture down here. Quickly she slid of Damien's lap and raced to a corner of the room. She had placed the book in a specific spot, and since no one but her actually looked at it, it was always there. Smiling, she grabbed the one with a huge fire engine plastered on the front and ran back to Damien. Arms stretched out in front of her, she held the book out to Damien. "Fire engines!" she exclaimed, her eyes alight in excitement. Abby scrambled onto the couch and sat right next to Damien, opening it up and pointing the various pictures of different fire engines. "Look, Damien! They're so cool!"

(lhal;abhnadfkl; jahlk; jads T-T The internet died and killed the post... sorry if this one fails...)

~Johnathan Cross~
Johnathan had heard Griffon's question, but pushed it aside for the moment as Castanet spoke again. He took a breath and held it, trying to calm himself and keep from snapping. He'd rather not get angry and inflict pain in their heads. Well, Castanet he wouldn’t mind but he didn’t want to do that to Griffon. His expression had returned to neutral as he looked to Castanet as he chose his next words carefully, “A little muddled? You completely killed my vocal cords. That did more than quiet me.” His tone was unnatural bland compared to his previous tone, “I’d also like to point out that I wasn’t attacking you, it was a natural reflex. Imagine taking a walk on your day off as Councilor, completely in lala land and then turn a corner and a druid be there.” He returned his gaze to Griffon, this time intending to answer his question, “Ahh you know, just skipping through a meadow going tralalalala and just happened to come across this fun looking place.” He shrugged. He noticed how serious Griffon was about the question, but he honestly didn’t care. “Why I’m here is none of your concern, Councilor Wings, at least at the moment.” He hadn’t exactly thought of an excuse of where he’s been yet. He hated lying completely and he couldn’t exactly tell the truth. So his tactics to get around questions were to avoid answering, make it obvious he wasn’t going to answer, or pretend he saw an interesting butterfly flutter by and walk off, pretending to be pointing at it like an amazed child.

~Kage Pearce~
Kage nearly laughed aloud as she heard Deryn’s reply, so instead she just grinned inwardly after she managed to stifle the laugh. She gave a small nod in response, “Yeah, I met him a really long time ago.” She didn’t exactly want to mention the topic of the raid through which she had met Deryn after it. She looked at the picture Angela had gotten with a grin and laughed, “Why thank you. I would have said something else, but Deryn can smell cake a mile away.” She didn’t know it was for sure Deryn then and it wasn’t the easiest to hide a cake behind your back without standing funny. She thought a moment to her question, “Caia? I have no idea where she is though, and Trinity seemed to have disappeared somewhere.” Again, she didn’t mention the fact that she doubted trinity would like a face full of cake by her since the last time she had seen the teacher was when she had bopped her on the head with her hard wrist cast, and harder then she intended too.

Hearing more, seeing more, is that really living more?

Damien smiled a little at Abigail's eagerness and excitement, her childish naivety was beginning to help get rid of his sadness. "Fire engines?" He took a look at the book in her lap as she started pointing out the bright red vehicles. He guessed she liked them because they were eye-catching, "Do you have fire engines in Lii?" That was an answer he didn't know himself, he'd never seen any type of emergency vehicle around here.

Trinity curled up on the floor next to Esme, occasionally smacking whatever file Esme was holding with her tail when she read something she didn't like the sound of. "Why would I want a weird bonding thing with you? You're holding my life story in your hands, it's rather freaky and terrifying, and you're not going to tell me anything like always. You don't trust me at all, most of my family hates me and I don't know why, and you wonder why I act like a child. You treat me like one." She suddenly bit Esme's arm as hard as she could before scampering away from the hunter and hiding among boxes.

"I was a kid." Castanet insisted. She wasn't completely sure how old she was, but knew she had been under the age of ten. "I was about eightish, and more freaked out by trying to work out why I suddenly ended up on the council island and why it's so cold here and you were a freaky grown man all freaky and stuff. So it was a natural reflex to scream out a spell at you and completely natural that a kid gets a spell wrong the first time they try it. And you shouldn't attack demons. There's a truce being organized between druids and hunters." She frowned a little when she heard that Johnathan had been skipping through a meadow. "Have you had a little too much sun...?"

Deryn had been expecting it to be a lie since it couldn't possibly be true, but then again it would have been a horrible joke if everyone had been lying. He just stood there in shock once he rounded the corner of a tent and found his dad telling everyone he'd been skipping through a meadow. His dad. Was stood there. In rude health. His dad. Alive. He walked over and hit Johnathan around the head. "Why haven't you told me you're alive yet? You'd better have a good excuse or I'll kill you myself."

"A really long time ago eh?" Angela frowned a little, then shrugged, "Alrighty. His dad used to know my dad, Deryn's obsessed with cake, me and my siblings used to hide cake from him because it was hilarious." She'd only seen him once or twice and he was so covered in scars that it was hard to recognize him now. "Yeah he might be able to smell cake a mile away, doesn't mean he'll be able to reach it when Aiden is making it fly through the air." She grinned and shrugged. "We shall have to find these teachers then, and put cake in their faces."

.* Abigail Atlas *.

Abigail shook her head side to side a little dejectedly. There were no fire engines in anywhere angels lived that she was aware of. "Only on Earth." she said, flipping to the next page in the book. "Makes me have upset face, like you." That's why, whenever she could, she would take a little detour on Earth and go see them in human towns (most cities scared her). She was cloaked, so there was no risk of being seen. And if she accidently forgot to make herself unseen, then she would just be a little girl anyway. Her wings were invisible, as were all angels of the Atlas family.

Abby continued to silently flip through the pages of the book, and reached the end relatively quickly (picture books weren't very long anyway). When she was through, she snapped it shut and laid in the couch, clasping her hands in front of her and swinging her legs back and forth. Every once in a while, she would glance up at Damien, and when she wasn't looking at him she was looking around the room.
