Hakan found himself, unwittingly, accompanied by Arren, and so soon after their last escapade in complete success for him. He had watched Trinity escape, satisfied with the results and data gathered from his observations, and went back to the Lure Council to inform them of the developments in Solitude's case. He had drawn up the conclusion that she would be just as useful as Trinity Kane, since she appeared to have merged with her shadow self, and just as easily controlled if she remained at the Horia Academy. He no longer saw a logical reason to pursue a capture with such vigor as before.
The Council disagreed. In Hakan's opinion, after analyzing the leaders' reactions and responses, they were too set on the idea of complete and utter control over their puppet, and that meant having her with them in the Otherworld. It was contradictory towards Hakan's willingness to give the half-demon a little leash. They were blinded to the benefits it could have. It was like having their own spy among the humans, and the best kind of informant as well: the kind who were unaware they were being manipulated.
Hakan's first priority was still the wishes of the council, and though usually they allowed him to work in his own way, they gave him a direct order to renew a past partnership with Arren. The one that involved a member of the werewolf ravaged Cross family. It was another attempt to bring Trinity back, and Hakan agreed to it. There was still value in bringing the half-demon back, after all, just not as much as his own conclusion. Still, if she allowed herself to be taken, then she deserved it for not being strong enough to resist. That was all there was to it.
And so, he was with Arren again, though not under the druid's employment. It was more like contracted partners. 'I have no immediate preference nor need for the capture of any other human. One is good enough for our plan.' Johnathon was a useful puppet. At least, his powers were useful..* Emotions are an entrapment for reliable analysis *.

Power is the downfall of those too weak to resist.
Arren had found himself in the annoying Lure demon's company again. He was fine with it as long as the Lure demon wasn't constantly being annoying like he had been last time. Arren wasn't actually paying attention to Hakan anyway, just following him around with a bored looking expression as Hakan did most of the work. Arren didn't have endless hordes of lizardmen at his disposal any more, after the losses in the prison, the lizardmen usually employed by him were on strike.
He was leaning against one of the walls not far from Hakan, flipping through a book when he suddenly got Johnathan's voice in his head. 'Ignore Hakan, go capture the council members. It will make us more powerful.'

Oh, yes. A council member. The sole reason why Arren even considered reuniting with Hakan again. How juvenile. Going after the council members might possibly alert the hunters to their plan sooner than anticipated, and expose their puppet, but Arren probably wasn't thinking about that. He tended to focus solely on his own greed. 'Use your own judgment. If you see a reason to capture someone else, then do it.' This was a new tactic of his that he was going to attempt. What if he didn't control every aspect of the plan as blatantly as he did before? Some new information might arise from an unexpected scenario, and humans were the epitome of the unexpected. Besides, as soon as something happened that would make Hakan feel he should intervene, then he could always take over. It was as simple as that..* Emotions are an entrapment for reliable analysis *.
~Johnathan Cross~
Johnathan shifted and sat down as he felt lightheadedness edge into him. As he listened, he put his head in his hands, trying his best ot keep the connection as strong as he could. He didn't say anything right away, just furrowed his eyebrows as Arren instead told him to get a council member. He would have much prefered to listen to Hakan's first words and not get anyone else. He didn't like either of them for various reasons, and if he had to choose between the two without the whole mind-control thing, it would be Hakan. He just didn't like Arren, mainly because he was related to the person that destroyed his vocal cords. He was about to ask Arren if it was nessissary to capture a council member when Hakan spoke in again. Johnathan probably would had breathed a sigh of relief if he wasn't concentrating so hard. 'No... I don't see any reason to capture another person, especially a Council member. You have a Cross child now and she could probably be very useful to whatever you need them for.' Hakan's words let him move around capturing anyone, which he was almost glad for. Yet, it also made him wonder why the Lure said what he did.
The connection crackled for a minute as Johnathan grimaced, fixing it as best as he could. When he fixed it, he heared the faintest surface thoughts of both of them, which he shut out as much as he wanted to see what they where. He did though, register Hakan saying how quickly it would alert the Council if one did go missing, which gave him another excuse for his 'judgement' to not go and get anyone else. 'If I'm not to get anyone, what should i do in the meantime?'
(sorry if there is any confusing parts, my muse is odd right now and I'm seriously tired |D)
