.* Amos Grey & Li Mei London *.
Li Mei looked down at Deryn and raised an eyebrow. "Some of us have important things to do." She would have to swim back. Curtana was too busy talking with Durendel. Dragons apparently get so little of other dragon company. Li Mei turned and strode down to the shore.
"Don't forget about my food!" Li Mei glanced back at Amos and rolled her eyes. The old man seriously expected her to bring him his meals. Without replying, Li Mei waded into the water, turned back into an octopus, and swam away. Amos shrugged and turned around again, continuing to wait for his granddaughter's return.

.* Hakan Lure & Caia Grey *.
"If logic irritates you," Hakan replied, following Arren closely, "then I would have to agree that I am more irritating than Trinity Kane." Or, he added silently, you simply lack common sense. Which he truly believed Arren did, so it was more of a truth than educated guess.
Caia was drowsy, was pretty sure she had a migraine, and ached from being shoved around by lizardmen the entire day. And killing them, but killing them was a positive spin in an otherwise negative situation, so she refused to blame her aching on that. Anyway, to keep it simple, she did not feel well. Of course, she had never really been a prisoner in the Otherworld before. Suddenly Caia could relate to Cordell and Trinity's distaste of the place. She really didn't like it, from its red sand to discolored suns. Earth had plenty more to look at... not that the prisons weren't a figure of delight. Oh no, they were lovely with the bloodstained walls and floors and... well everything. Quite bloody. Demon blood mostly, but she couldn't help but notice a lot of red blood in this particular cell. Caia could feel her mood drop just by sitting in the room, which must have been part of the reason she was thrown into this one. Oh, being a prisoner was loads of fun. She couldn't wait to see how long her sanity would last, or how long she would actually last.
Caia wasn't doing much until Arren and Hakan came along, just hitting the back of her head against the wall as she sat in dried blood. When she noticed the two demons she stopped, tilting her head to the side. "There you are. You never gave me a chance to compliment you on your prison." She spread out her arms. "I love what you've done with the place." No, headaches and drowsiness did not make her the most complacent person. Hakan was thinking more along the lines of intelligence. Unless she was a complete idiot, there was no way she didn't know the consequences of her insubordination.
