((Yeah, that tends to have negative results, Angel.))
.* Caia Grey *.
Caia breathed heavily as the dragon disappeared and Akuma reappeared, clutching her sword tightly in the hand she could still feel. As the pocketwatch fell to the floor, Caia stared at it, vaguely recognizing a similar pocketwatch on the corpse of Lucinda. She glanced at the demon bleeding at her feet, and for once felt a slight hesitation in the idea of killing her. The feeling didn't last long, however. There was too much at stake, and too much Caia needed to protect that would be put in further danger if Akuma was left alive.
She lifted up her sword and rested it on Akuma's back, just over the demon's heart. "You fought for your sister well, though you probably don't want to hear that from me." Caia sighed softly. "But saying this simply as someone who also lost their family... I'm sorry you had to suffer through that." She hesitated for another brief second, then in a burst of resolve plunged the blade through Akuma's heart.
Caia retracted the blade immediately and walked away as the black wall dissolved, turning her concerns to Angela's condition, and also chiding herself profusely.
'I must be getting soft,' she thought as she knelt by the unconscious girl,
'To be sympathizing with a demon.' Still, it was scary enemies could be so similar in retrospect. Perhaps that's why Caia never bothered to think about it before.
.* I want to protect, so I will dirty my hands for you *.

I've been dumped a boatload of work to do before college, so I will post when I can. Life is my nemesis.
