Landon smiled a little and moved to her side. He reached over and brushed the loose strands of hair behind her ear. He watched her for a moment before looking back to the crew. "As much as I hate to say it, we might be sailing again soon."

Axel glared at Araina, did she have absolutely no idea what humans were like?! There’s no such thing as a kind, or nice Human! He sighed deeply, he shouldn’t take this out on his own kind, he wasn’t like those disgusting humans. “Axel” He said his name half-heartedly, he had no pride in it. He was a disgrace. He wasn’t even able to protect his mother and he still had the name of his great grandfather, the great protector.

She looked up at him as he brushed her hair back. She gabbed his hand, and felt the soft, yet rough feeling of his hand on her own. "Scaley," she murmured softly.

Landon was rather surprised when she reached out to grab his hand. "Scaley?" he asked quietly. "All I know is that your hands feel soft." He smiled a little at her before looking back out to his crew. "Prepare to lower the sails in a few!" he called out to them.

Norike nodded in silence as he climbe dthe small rope sthat led to the put of the ship to lower the sails.

Nyx looked at him. "Why aren't you riding us?"

Landon shrugged a little. "I don't know," he replied and glanced over to her. He held onto her hand a little tighter. "What would the other mermaids think if I asked for you to join my crew? Then, I wouldn't have to leave you behind."

She thought about it for a moment. "They ahve no sy in what I choose to become," She whispered softly. "I'll join,"

"I'm glad you decided to stay," Landon chuckled as he pulled out another bandanna from his pocket. He tied it around her head loosely so that she could adjust it if it was uncomfortable. He grinned at her and soon went off to help Norike with the sails.

She felt the material of the bandana, amazed by the feel. God, she had never felt such a material before.

Landon untied one of the ropes to help lower the sail. "All we need is a good wind," he muttered under his breath. "Which might be a few hours give or take. Once the sails were hoisted, he leaned up against the center mast and pulled out a waterlogged map. "At least it's still readable," he mumbled under his breath as he tried to read the now faint pencil markings.
