Laurie~
Laurie hummed thoughtfully to herself, wishing she'd bought her camera with her, she could have taken some really good photos... She sighed and began to draw in her book, doodling over the maths work, she'd get told off by the teachers later but she didn't care. Suddenly she had an urge to look up and frowned, she noticed a girl and for some reason she thought of the earth. Laurie shook her head, thinking she was going mad, then sneezed again and the lights flickered. She ignored the lights, becoming frustrated with her so called 'powers' she hated them.

Kahlan frowned and glanced up as the lights flickered, wondering why that had happened. Lights didn't normally do that unless there was a storm. She sighed and walked over to a bench, sitting on the side opposite another girl. She nodded politely to the girl feeling electricity around her. She shrugged it off though. "Hi." she said with a small smile. She was bored and this girl was the only person that seemed okay to talk to in the mall at the moment.

Laurie smiled shyly, "Um, Hello." Her voice was a little sore, she'd not used it for a long time. She was confused to why the earth girl was talking to her, people never normally did that, she was used to her own company. She could feel her face go red slightly with embarrassment already and wondered why it seemed impossible for her to have a conversation without going tomato-colored.

Kahlan smiled, feeling the electricity brighten around the girl as she spoke. It was an odd feeling and made the hair on the back of her neck stand up, almost like getting an electric zap from touching a light switch. "My name's Kahlan, what's your's?" she asked the seemingly very shy girl with a smile. It rather amused Kahlan that the girl was blushing, then again she herself was not one to blush no matter how embarrassed she got. It was very rare to see Kahlan blush, though Sverdar had managed to it once.

Laurie~
Laurie felt her face get redder and redder, "I'm Laurie." She replied, then after a few moments she added, "It's nice to meet you." She put down her notebook, she'd read somewhere that it was rude to be reading while someone was talking to you. She looked up at Kahlan and seemingly by impulse rather than the desire to speak whispered, "You remind me of the earth - flowers and plants and trees... Do you know what's going on?"
