Jennifer pushed her way into the hidden room, looking for Ray. Maybe she could help with the testings. Looking at Ray, she walked over to him, smiling. It was her shy smile, the one that made everyone love her; no one had seen through it yet.

Do You Hear the March of Time?

Echo stood up a bit reluctantly at first, her steps faltering slightly as she stepped out into the bright fluorescent lights of what looked like a long corridor with many other cells like her own. She brushed a few strands of rich brown and teal hair out of her striking violet eyes, and she followed the other girl who had just been taken out as well into a large room. A few other people seemed to be milling around in it, doing... things. She wasn't really quite sure what they were doing. That man had talked about tests, so she figured that that's what they were all doing. There were lots of things going on, but they weren't at all normal. Crazy, wild, out there things that she couldn't quite manage to wrap her mind around. Echo did manage to catch a few words being passed around, though: what is my power? Upon hearing it, Echo realized something: I can see the turn of time. I can see all eternity in my head, is that a... power? An ability? she thought, wondering whether or not that could even be possible. While she was thinking about where to go to start her testing, when an aching, horrible pain seemed to split her body apart. Echo sank to her knees, holding in a massive scream. She squeezed her eyes shut, a few tears rolling down her cheeks. Her chest ached with an excruciating pain that throbbed and took over her entire nervous system. what... is going on? she thought, tears spilling out of her eyes. She didn't even care that people were probably staring at her at the moment. It was like one of those moments when you were a little kid. When kids are little and they start to cry to someone, they want attention. But when they cry alone, it's because they just can't stop. It feels like there's nothing left, there's no one to cry to, and nothing can be changed. You're just in too much physical or emotional pain to even register the feeling of embarrassment or shame. This was one of those moments. Shaking silently and holding herself up the best she could while she sat on her knees, the tears began to soak her hands. She was cold and scared, but that didn't matter. Echo was in pain. Immense pain that didn't seem to fade. It was an incredible, searing pain that burst throughout her entire body like a gun shot where it's entirely silent. Pushing herself to her feet shakily, Echo forced herself to start walking. Aliquam, she scolded herself. Stop acting like a child. It'll go away eventually. It has to. And y'know? I think that my "power" is probably time. Or pain. that was her last thought before she sank to her feet, the pain growing to a level where it felt like she'd rather kill herself than keep on living with that pain for another second.

Sophie turned around to see a girl on the frond crying. She looked like she was in pain. Sop he dashed over. "What's going on?! Are you okay?!" She asked, kneeling down next to her. She looked at the girl, concern in her tone.
