Talia took two steps forward. "Yes, I'm fine." She said in her quiet but strong voice. "Who were you calling?" she asked,moving a couple strands of hair out of her face. She was quite lovely, and since she only wore a small layer of foundation, It was completly natural, because she was no makeup artist. Sketches, yes. Faces, no.

Max shrugged, he pushed his slim glasses a little further up his nose,
"Oh, it was just my mum, she was wandering what time I'd be back - " he motioned to the space next to him, "do you wanna sit down?" he added, smiling a little.

"Sure." She had been sitting for hours, so she didn't want to stand much. "My parents are always working, so when I'm not here, I'm at the library, or the bookstore where I work." She offered. She usually didn't have much to say, but (Max? I thought it was Tom) made her relax a little.

Tom smiled, he thought for a minute,
"Do you work in borders, that new huge bookstore that opened just outside the city? Or is it waterstones*?" he asked, turning and sitting normally again. He liked Talia, she was very down to earth.

[*waterstones is in the citycenter, which is where they are]

"Waterstones. But I get a lot of time off work because of that new store." She smiled. "It's nice, because I can hang out with my friends mo-" A small puppy ran up to her, followed by its owner, a little girl. "S-sorry, Ma'am." she said, and blushed. "It's quite alright." Talia smiled. "As I was saying, I have more time for friends." She told Tom.

Tom nodded,
"Yeah, time off it great - I just work in HMV, its great since I get discounts on the CDs and stuff" he said, watching the puppy being taken away by the little girl.

"Yeah? What's your favorite band?" She asked, momentarily distracted by an interesting game of chess.

Tom thought for a moment,
"Hm, I like a lot of differnt stuff, like The wombats, Vampire weekend, that kind of thing" he told her, nodding his head once.

"I really like The Beatles, and Coldplay is great too." She said. Someone threw a rock at her head. "Nerd!" They taunted. "Ow..." she said, rubbing her head.

Tom picked up the rock and flung it back at the guy, who fell over with the impact. He smiled lightly at Talia,
"Yeah, The Beatles are legends" he agreed.
