Devin flew back to the castle, now depressed. She had just
frozen during that fight. She couldn't move a muscle. And Luke.
Luke. The thought brought salty tear to her gray eyes. She flew in to Luke's room without thinking. " Ahhh the mirror." she muttered. She dug her supplies from the closet in the hallway, and walked to the bathroom. She carefully mended the mirror, cleaned the bathroom, and replaced the towels and soap. As she was wiping off the mirror, she stopped and stared at herself. Skinny, petite figure, thick black hair that reached her elbows, gray eyes with a hint of blue, several freckles on her face, and large feathery black wings with silver feathers.
" Not somebody Luke would ever love." she thought. She put her supplied back, and cleaned the tray and cookie crumbs she had made. She stuck a not one the mirror. It read:
Dear Luke,
I fixed this mirror, if it isn't obvious. I mended each piece thinking of you. You hair, your eyes, your beautiful self. Wasn't it easy when we were kids? I know. I need to see you. Actually talk to you. I miss you Luke.
Love,
Devin
She walked out of his room, and ran to her own small, bedroom. She flopped down on the smile cot, and burst in to tears.
