Nina nodded, feeling the indentation of her scars. "Hm. And how'd I get these, high and mighty scientists?" she said to no one in particular.

Mini looked over at Nina with the You stupid? look. "You got bit by a huge shark. Mine are like 5 inches long a scar, and they wrap around both legs completly. Luckily, only one leg was broken." A radio in Mini's pocket buzzed and she took it out. "Man just eaten." The girl on the radio said. Mini pressed th button and said "We know, I saw the Chica come out of the ravine and swim over around the other side of the beach, she smelt the blood."

Laysee popped out of the water just before the radio went off. Her eyes got wide. "Wonder who it was. . ." She thought out loud.

"I was being sarcastic, Mini," she said with a laugh, until she heard Mini's radio... "Rico," she thought in mortal fear. She jumped up and ran to her cabin, and picked up her cellphone. She looked through her contacts and found Rico's number, and dialed it.

Rico heard his phone ring Nina's jingle. He ran to pick it up. "Hello?" he said.
Nina sighed in relief. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yeah. Why?" he asked, a bit too casually.
"Oh my gosh, no you're not? What happened? Is your family okay? Your little sister?" she asked worridly.
Rico sighed, looked around, and lowered his voice. "My step dad just beat the living **** out of my mother and sister, but they should be allright now. He's dead. LaBonita came up and ate him," he said, with a sense of grim triumph.
Nina gasped. "Oh, my gosh. When are you coming back?" she asked.
"Tommorrow, I think," he said, glad to be off the subject.
Nina sighed. "Okay. Well, I just wanted to make sure you guys were okay..."
"Okay. Okay. Bye, Nina. See you tommorrow," he said.
"Bye," she said, and hung up. She walked back to the beach. "It was Rico's stepdad. The rest of his family is fine, but LaBonita came and ate the step dad."

Laysee suddenly screamed and went under the water. She bobbed back up. "What the hell is in my foot?" She screamed.

Mini rolled her eyes and walked into the water, pulling Laysee back to shore. "A type of sea plant that's very sharp." She said, pulling the sharp reed out of the small cut in Laysee's foot. She walked up to the Life Guard Shack and grabbed and band-aid. She came back and put it on Laysee's cut. "You're a wimp, honestly." She said.

Laysee sighed in relief and layed in the warm sand.

Nina giggled a bit, and looked out on the water. The sharks could be just fifty feet away, waiting for someone to get out that deep...It was getting dark, all the sharks would be getting more active. Even the ones that were regular. Tiger sharks, great white sharks, they'd all be coming out now.

Rico looked at the sunset across the water and wondered if Nina could see it too.
