((Thanks ^^))
Noble quietly slipped into the resting area, but a powerful, large hand grasped his shoulder as if it were about to rip it right off. "Agh!" Noble growled under his breath and whipped around, only to be terrified at the sight of one of the maradures. He went speechless, wondering what they were about to tell him. None of the maradures liked Noble due to his habit of slacking. It was only his sister, Claw, who saved his behind every time a maradure picked on him. She was a worthy addition to the clan, yes, but could sometimes become blinded by her own power.
"Yes?" Noble asked the maradure, turning around the face him completely. The maradure was well built and dressed in protective armor, probably having just returned from a hunt or fight defending the territory. The very thought of a fight sent Noble's blood rushing with excitement.
"Don't think you can drag yourself to the resting area so easily without doing any work. You're going on the next hunt to cover up for an injured hunter," The maradure explained, his voice low and intimidating like the roar of thunder.
"Eh, fine," Noble murmured in irritation, but was suddenly grabbed hold of by his neck collar in the maradure's anger.
"Don't use that tone with me! Filthy hanyou-" Suddenly, Claw burst in with an authoritative stance, causing the maradure to simply drop Noble back to the dusty earth. Claw was usually obedient to the maradures, but not to the lower ranked ones that bullied her sibling.
"What's all this about?"
"He's trying to kill me!!"
"You? This little scum is-
"He's called Noble. Now please leave. I'll get him on hunting duty as long as you don't kill him."
The maradure nodded, giving one angry glance at Noble, and left Claw and Noble behind only to stare at each other wide-eyed. "What were you doing messing with his anger like that? If I hadn't showed up, you would be a rotting carcass in minutes," Claw sighed to Noble, but got no reply from her irritated brother.
"Let's go," She said and walked out towards the camp exit with Noble following close behind.
---
As Claw and Noble, both in their own wolf form, walked back to the camp after a short hunt, each holding two to four rabbits each, Noble couldn't help but ask Claw, "Why...Why are you always acting like mother? Why don't you think I can take care of myself?" Both of them halted in front of the camp entrance, and Claw murmured in reply, "Because you can't take care of yourself, and I care about you."
"You don't trust me..."
"Not really."
Noble broke the silence as he began suddenly laughing softly, then continued towards the camp, leaving behind a confused Claw in front of the exit. "At least he isn't throwing a tantrum," She sighed and followed slowly after her sibling. "He's so weird."
