"Is there anything we can do??" Kaiiyen said as she ran up beside him. Her thoughts immediately went to her father. He wouldn't do anything for free, and she knew the price but... if it was for a friend...

"there's nothing we can do for him now except stay by his side ..." Blood sighed. "he needs to do this on his own."

She gave a cry of frustration. She hated waiting, and she hated sitting and not being able to do anything. "I'll be in the woods." She said. "Whichever Garry wakes up, they know where to find me." If the madness won, she wouldn't want to be around to witness the waking up. It'd break her heart thinking she would have her friend back, only to have him be replaced by some monster who terrified her more than her father.

Blood nodded to her and stayed in the room, sitting on the end of the bed ... waiting.

Meanwhile, Garry and the madness were still fighting strongly against each other, evenly matched. Garry tried to keep positive thoughts so fear wouldn't cloud his mind and make the madness stronger.

Sitting in the branch she normally sleeps in, she couldn't help but twiddle her thumbs and wait nervously. She had it all planned out. If the mad Garry came, she'd snap his neck. If the Garry she knew and was her friend came... Well... Happy day. But... Could she bring herself to kill a friend, if it came to it? She groaned and leaned her head back against the tree trunk, closing her eyes. She couldn't make up her mind about anything anymore. Maybe a nap would bring her an answer.

The madness smirked to Garry and began to try and bring negative thought. "you really think you can't beat me? ... you've already lost you know ... the more you hide your fear the more i get stronger ..." he chuckled. Garry flinched, he knew that by even thinking about fear he was setting himself up to fall because the fear would come up and be the end of him. In this hesitation the madness managed to strike a deep slash into his arm. In the outside world, the water the rose resided in had blood seeming to be poured from the top as the red liquid soon engulfed the water and tainted it red. Garry winced at this and growled lowly, soon striking his sword forward but missing the madness and being hit from behind. He fell to the ground and tried to ignore the searing pain ... He weakly looked over to the madness, who smiled down at him with a crazed look on his face. "game over ... Garry." it smirked, soon laughing psychotically as it raised the sword up over it's head. In this split second of time, Garry made the only move he could think of, and force his weight onto his arms, moving his lower body quickly in a hovering sweeping motion over the ground and tripping the madness. As the madness fell onto his back the sword flung into the air. Garry was to weak to do anything else and lay there on his stomach, his face turned toward the madness as he soon saw the madness own sword strike down onto his neck. The head rolled off a bit to the side, a wide eyed look of shock on it's face. Garry gave a small, weak smile, before he soon closed his eyes and the smile faded. The room began to shake and the walls began to crumble, the pieces falling into the abyss of his mind and all around him. He lay on the only broken piece of the mental world left. "... check ... mate." he murmured weakly, soon passing out.

Blood looked over toward the rose, seeing that no more of the small black splatters had changed the blue rose ... but he did notice the water in the vase was now tinted red. He looked over to Garry, seeing the crack over his left eye stay in place ... he must have managed to stop the madness, but his mind had still suffered quite a bit and was still broken in places. Now was the time he knew he needed people to help lead him back to being awake. He got up and went over to the window, wondering how he was going to contact Kaiiyen.

A blossom landed on the tip of her nose. It bothered her in her sleep. Her eyes fluttered. then snapped wide open. Blossoms, everywhere. Floating around, flying. She sat up, and they all formed a straight line, leading back to the mansion. She closed her eyes again and jumped down. Instead of her usual attire, she wore a pure white dress that went down to her knees with layered ripped fabric, and no sleeves. It had a sweet-heart neckline. She wore no shoes, and her long hair was loose, not tied up in its usual ponytail. She studied the blossoms. "Message understood." She ran off towards the mansion, a blur of white and yellow against the evergreen trees.

Blood looked out the window, then back toward Garry ... he wasn't exactly asleep yet he wasn't awake and he wasn't dead ... so what was this state he was in?

Kaiiyen did a flip through the window and landed on her feet. "It's a state of the mind. You retreat back there, and no one can get you out of it. Only you can decide when, and if, you come out." She sat on the bed beside Garry and gazed down at his face. "Only he can decide what to do. We have to wait."

Blood, for the first time, actually flinched from surprise, soon spinning around to look at her. "how did you-?!" He stopped mid sentence and sighed. "never mind ... but even so, he doesn't seem to be conscious even in that state ... you think he'll wake up and be able to decide?" he asked.
