The boy, Crono stopped as he turned his head. "Stay with you?" He sighed, "'they' wont like it if im not back before sundown, but alright." He walked to her, face expressionless as he asked. "Why do you want someone like me to stay around?" He asked tilting his head while he put his hands in his pockets.

"Well... you're the only person I've ever met." She sighed heavily. "I guess It just get's a little lonely when you're in a cage all of the time. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." She turned to face him. "So, my name's... my... my name is..." She stuggled to find herself a name. "I don't really know what my name is." she giggled.

Crono looked down his eyes closed. "Im Crono, im a..." He trailed off as he shook his head. "Nothing." He looked up again his face hard as he asked. "You dont know what your name is?" He sounded surpirsed.

"No. Not at all. I've been in a lab my whole life... the only thing they called my was the angel girl." She laughed. "Crono's a cool name!" She smiled. "I wish I knew, but they never gave me one." she looked up at him, still having a smile on her face. "So crono, where are you from?" She asked. "You were saying something before. You're a.... a human, am I correct?" She giggled.

Crono moved some hair from him to reveal pointy ears. "No, im not human, im what humans fear, im there nightmere. Here-" He closed his eyes only for a momant then opend them. "How about Mai, yes, its a good name for you." He then noticed that she had angel wings and his heart raced.

She nodded. "Cool!" She noticed HIM noticing HER wings. "Oh, yeah! The people in the labs gave me these. My best friend was a lion boy, but he couldn't talk. Only roar." She mumbled. She moved her wings slowly, as not to startle him. "Do you want to touch them? A lot of people did at the shows." She grinned at him.

Crono shook his head. "No, im not aloud to be with...or even talk to those with the wings of angels because-"
"Crono! Where are you! Aion is waiting!!!"
Crono spun around as the voice in the distance startled him. "Im sorry, Mai, we have to seperate." He whipped around and he darted into the forest only the sound of hooting was all there was.

"Wait! But I- I didn't- No I- I'm so sorry!" She cried. "Everyone leaves... I guess." She talked to herself, wandering through the woods tiredly. She kept on walking until she couldn't really walking anymore. She'd been walking in huge circles...

Crono stopped as a huge devil with four wings looked down at him. "Where have you been? Where are the souls you collected for lord Aion." Crono gasped, he had forgotten he backed up as Aion rose from the shadows. "Crono, where are my souls."
"Ill get them." Crono trembled as he suddenly was hit in the back of the head by Aion's servent. "Take Crono to the screaming house." He ordered.
"Yes, Aion." Servent said.

Crono was tighed by cuffs and chains as the servent whipped him with a long chain and Crono screamed as blood hit the ground. Crono was used to this, he already had a thousand slices in his skin from last time, as he was beaten he was let go. "Dont do it again." The servent said walking away and vannishing. Crono had gotton to his knees, he had no shirt and he was shaking with agony of pain.

Mai wandered into the territory, trying to think of a way to get back to the city. She leaned against a tree tiredly, and folded her wings into her shirt neatly, and laid down in the tree, resting. Her brown hair glimmered in the moonlight as she slept, hoping only for the best.
