"Yea, thats gotta suck... What did they even do to add the fur and stuff to you? did they do it purposefully or was it an accident?" kaydence asked as he picked up a twig.

Alexandria glanced at the cave entrance then back at jennifer, "They were actually trying to cure illnesses?" she asked a little bit shocked, "Guess their not all demonic..." she mumbled before shaking her head, "What compelled them to think of rat dna to cure an illness?" she said quietly.

Jennifer smirked "rats immunity to crap like the cold, flu, all kinds of viruses that medicine doesn't help...and nuclear explosion, or so I heard."
Justin grinned "not sure, I was indifferent and still dont care, believe it or not I volunteered, though at the time I didn't know they'd be trying to see how much expeirements I could take before I mentally or physically die....I turned into a literal bat man."

Alexandria nodded, "yea, I heard that too but maybe its just cause their smart animals?" she suggested with a small shrug, "im not sure why their immune to the flu an crap but im pretty sure thats why they could survive a nuclear explosion." she shrugged again before looking out of the cave.

"You volunteered?" Kaydence said before he shook his head, "Thats crazy." he mumbled before looking at justin, "They should have told you what they were going to do then." He said quietly before shaking his head again, "You hate them now?" he asked curiously

"Nothin to hate, it was this or be drafted for war....my grandfather came back from war crazy enough to kill his wife, my aunt, attemt to kill my dad then blow his brains out so....I found this the better." Justin shrugged. "They warned me that I probably will never see my family again, but it payed for my little sisters surgery. So no, I do not hate them. They saved my sister and me."
Jennifer sighed "I guess........ I miss my mom." She whispered almost inaudibly.

Kaydence nodded, "that sucks, i would think it'd be for the better too. how'd you get the choice? like how'd you find this place?" he asked looking over at justin. "I thought it was supposed to be hidden or a secret or something..." he said as he remembered a convorsation afew of the scientists had a few weeks ago when they were all still captive.

Alexandria looked sharply at Jennifer, "Do you remember her at all?" she asked, barely catching the words.

Jennifer sighed "she's a rebel hunter, trying to save the tests."
Justin laughed half heartedly "same way the hunters find out, it was offered. One of the draft guys took me aside and asked if i'd rather help scientist and get paid beforehand....I said yeah."

Kaydence shook his head, "offered..." he mumbled. "guess that makes sence. not many people want to go around chasing half human half animal things in the woods all day, gotta offer them the job huh." he smirked, "I guess im gonna have to make their lives a little harder now." he said trying to think of ways to annoy the hunters already. "I always figured they were kidnapped or something, like most of us. I guess those who cant remember their past were taken and those that can were offered." he said half to himself.

Alexandria looked up at Jennifer, "She'll rescue you soon then, or hopefully she will..." she said. a rebel hunter..? there're hunters on our side now? oh, how i hope... she thought as she shifted her weight and leaned back against the cave wall more.

"Shell rescue us all." Jennifer said with a yawn.
Justin grinned then stopped as his ears twitched at the slightest sound, he listened intently then shrugged and kept walking.

Kaydence picked up another log before looking around, "Think this'll be enough to start that fire?" he asked lifting his arms a small ammount and letting them drop again. "an arm full of sticks and logs for the nights fire..." he mumbled glancing through the trees.

Alexandria looked out of the cave again and leaned her head back against the wall. She closed her eyes wishing this day, and everything that had happened to get them all in the scientists hands had never happened.

Justin sniffed the air "hold on, can I borrow your shirt?" He said, not taking his gaze off the trees, one ear to Kaydence.
Jennifer curled into a ball on her side and began to fall asleep.
