After several moments of swift ascent, Edwin finally breached the top of the building and how floated still looking out onto the city. There were buildings taller still than this one and a fewer smaller. Below, he saws the cars he learned of only recently dart down the different black stone paths that crossed between buildings in a pattern not too different from a grid. He then looked up and saw the moon, only barely concealed by a taller building.
Taking the scene in, his thoughts drifted to his friend. He wasn't sure where he was; and wasn't even sure of his name. Edwin only knew that he may be out there. Or dead. But he didn't want to think of that option. What bothered him was the lack of starlight. Those strange torches all over the city seemed to be overwhelming the lights of the sky. Knowing now that distance was not too much of a problem at the moment, he decided it was time to return to his body.
Taking a sharp inhale, he opened his eyes again and sat up on the bed, back in his body.
