Synth sighed angrily and fell back into the dust. She leaned back against a tree and sobbed into her knees. "All I ask for some time alone with Ty and people have to come ruin that as usual." she let the bow fall into the ground and wrapped her arms around her legs hugging them closer to her chest.
Synth still sat in the dust when the sun arched high over head. Her tears dried in cracked streaks down her cheeks. She stood and hobbled, more like crashed, disoriented by heat and dehydration through the woods. Her arms hung limply by her sides, the low yowl barely registered in her ears before she leaped into flight. The cougar was upon her before she could began to escape. His claws raked her arms and legs. His canines pierced her shoulder. Frozen with shock the girl didn't scream once. The cougar left as sudden as it came leaving the battered Synthepellos behind to crawl into thick brush and curl around herself. With the only thought, 'Why doesn't he just kill me?' and 'Ty will be just fine without me. He'll have no trouble finding someone else. Someone better. Someone worthy.' the only words the managed to escape her lips were the moans of the boy's name. "Ty..."
