Ash slung an arm happily around Joe, feeling like he was thirteen again. He'd only been with two girls: Bella and Joe. Bella had been his first kiss; it had probably knocked his socks off or something. He wondered where Alex and Bella were.
Bella gritted her teeth as the warlock continued.
"Well, Xavier was handsome. As soon as Tzipporah and he could get married, they did. Tzipporah died, though. My fault, obviously." Zepheous chuckled. "And, of course... Xavier committed suicide. But not before Lena became a surrogate mother, Bella. Your mother is your father's sister." He laughed loudly. "Isn't that hilarious? And then Lena couldn't carry the baby any longer. What a wild ride!" His eyes were huge and excited. "My greatest experiment, mature and lovely, sitting in front of me. I can only imagine how you're feeling right now." He put a hand on her shoulder and she bit his arm, trying to take out her seraph blade. Zepheous ripped his arm away and glared at her, rubbing it. "Seraph blades don't work against these ropes."
