Thalia arrived home and sighed. she pulled out her stationary pad and sat down with her favorite pen which was a old quill her grandmother had given her. She sat and wrote

Dear Carnation,
Today i met a really nice guy. even though it was over him practically impaling my leg with his foot. But of course you being my carnation you know how i tend to exaggerate. Well i really really like him and i made a bold move and asked him to pick me up. I hope i dont mess this up. Any suggestions on what i should do?

Thalia sighed wondering if He was thinking of her to. [Maybe they could jsut hang out or he couldnt wait to see her they could go to the movies r something]

She walked into the park she had just moved here not knowing anyone she tended to stay by herself at first not knowing what to say to the others around her. She just simply sat on a park bench and watched the birds peck at the ground. She sighed; sometime she found herself wanting to be more outgoing and not so shy she missed out on so much this she knew. It was hard for her to find her voice among so many people.

Leena

She was sitting under a tree in the park her nose in a romantic book as always. She knew there was no man out there that was like the ones she read about; they were all just made up but it gave her hope that there was someone out there better then they few she had dated in the past. She looked up into the afternoon? sky trying to find the energy to get up and head off home. She spotted some people in the park some looked younger then her others around her age. She looked back down and continued to read. Just one more chapter. She thought

Leo

He was playing basketball or well practicing it anyway; he was shooting hoops alone. Not making many of them in either; he frowned he needed to get better at it. After a few hours of being there he started to make every shot no matter where he stood on the court. He stopped for a moment wiping the sweat from his brow.

I turn on my Carnation phone, checking over the updates. New leaves. A new Carnation. Nothing but the usual. I then see an update, titled, Leaf #3. I scroll the mouse over the update and read what it says.

Carnation #1, you have a letter waiting for you. Would you like to reply by phone/email or by letter?

I instantly select phone/email, not wanting to go back home and have everyone ask what happened to me.

I read over Leaf #3's letter again, thinking how I should reply. I smile, softly, as I type the message out.

Dear Leaf #3,

^^ How cute! Though I'm probably the same age as you, I still think it's cute how you're worrying over such a little thing. Anyway, depending on the place and time, take things slowly and make sure he doesn't want to be with you, at the moment, so you won't come on to him too soon.

As I finish the reply, I click "send", hoping it'll send to her Leaf Phone, the phone given to leaves once they join.

As I grabed the phone, swooshing sounds startle me, making me almost dropping the phone. I looked towards the noise and saw someone practicing basketball. I quickly pull up the letter, wanting to see if a volleyball serve could be improved with basketball.

Dear Carnation,

I nod my head as I reply to the letter while I walk towards the court.

Hmm, do you want him to read it? I mean, did you give him any clues why or why not to look in it? That'd make a hge impact if you gave him any clues.

As i finished the letter, I noticed that I'm already at the court. I slip my phone in my pockey, picking up a basketball that was rolling besides me. I set my arms in position, looking at the hoop, and launched the ball into air. It came down into the hoop, making a pah-lunk noise after it hit the backboard.

She noticed a girl off from the others she thought is maybe a good idea to at least make one friend she had been here nearly a week an had barely spoken a word to anyone. They must think of her as a sob for not even talking to them. She got up off of the bench and walked over to the girl. Now standing in front of her looking down at her feet for awhile she looked up at the girl. She looked to be busy on her laptop. (you said she was in the park right?) "Hello." She smiled shyly. "I'm new here. My name is Annabel." Her voice low and shy.

She had finished with her chapter with a sigh she wished life were as easy as the books she read but she knew that it was not as easy as talking things out. She got up off of the ground and picked the blades of grass from her blue jeans and her white low cut blouse. She started to walk down the sidewalk.

Leo

He smiled happy he was getting better and not worse. His father would be happy with him if he were still alive anyway it had been him and his mother for the last four years now and he missed his father deeply. He put the ball under one arm as he headed off to the water fountain for a drink.
