Naomi closed her eyes and imagined herself as a little girl, about 8 years old, in the same position she was now but much lonlier. She was glad to know that she had a friend now.

Nythaniel saw her memory.

She remembered her parents handing her a cage and a with a small fuzzball in it. A hamster, exactly what she had asked for. Naomi had thousands of good memories of her and Pancake, but one always stuck out. The only bad memory she had of him. Her tenth birthday when her beloved friend didn't wake up. A tear formed in Naomi's eye and she blinked it away. Sitting upright she said,"I'm hungry, I'll be right back." she walked to the kitchen and looked through the freezer until she found a pint of vanilla ice cream. She grabbed a huge spoon and sat down at the table to eat the I've cream, forgetting that she told Nythaniel she was coming back.

Nythaniel sat up ad walked into the kitchen, knowing his way around the mansion by memory now. "YOu okay?"

"Yeahh.." she sighed. "I just kind of feel stupid now for almost crying in front of you over a hamster that's been gone for years." she took another huge bite of ice cream. "You ever had any pets?" she asked. She would feel better once changing the subject.

Nythaniel shook his head "No. And don't feel stupid for mourning, even pets are family."
