It was raining. Not a dreary, dull rain, but a rain that just washes away all the pain and suffering, replacing it with something of relief. That was it, sheer relief. For someone like Jake Tyler, it also meant freedom. It had been, well, forever since he'd felt the rain on his face and now he stood in the never ending rain, looking back at the building that had been his prison for almost eighteen years. It felt odd to now be standing on the outside, looking at the prison like building. But the feeling of being free for the first time in his life overwhelmed him. He had done it. They had done it. Jake and Chris.
It had been a fairly spectacular exit out of the Asylum, the doctors and employees had all been called to a important meeting and without thinking, they didn't leave anyone to watch out for the escapees. It seemed a bit odd that they didn't think of such a thing but maybe after so long of intimidating their patients they thought that there was no trouble. Boy, were they wrong. It was the one moment they lost their biggest experiments, freaks even, the gifted ones that obviously meant so much to them. To think that just a few minutes ago they were sitting in their blank, dull 'bedrooms'.
However it had been quite a spectacular show, the two of them working together to put things together. Chris had read the thoughts, telling Tyler exactly when and where to go and he had looked into the future, seeing what would happen. He had seen and felt it to be a great success, but sometimes, his visions weren't a 100% accurate so either way, it was a huge risk to take. They'd planned it so carefully, the stealing of the keys and the escape route out of the building. It ended up with them running down the gleaming white hallway, alarms sounding, their faces beading with sweat whilst they grinned, screaming inside as they ran down the hallway. It was still to risky to be yelling and screaming inside the actual building. Then, with a slamming of doors, they burst into the open, running through sheets of rain and through the gate they had stolen the keys to. Then, they had ran down the muddy, dirt road, until instincts had told them to stop. It was only then did they look back on their prison, a wild expression on Tyler's face. They had done it.
And now, as they stood out in the rain, Jake looked across at Chris, giving her a wide grin, unable to wipe it off his face as he watched her lift her arms up in the air, calling out with sheer joy. Sharing the joy, he tilted his head towards the sky, running a hand through his hair before he giving a slight jump on the spot, throwing his fist in the air. "We did it!" He yelled, as if he was calling out to the Asylum, laughing in their face. With a sudden woop, he ran towards Chris, lifting her up in a joyful bear hug before setting her down again and shaking his head, hardly able to believe it, droplets flying out of his soaking wet brown hair. Then he just stood there, in the rain, wearing his mid-wash jeans and tight black t-shirt that had been supplied to him, both of with sticking to him with the moisture.
For the first time since he'd escaped from the Asylum, Tyler now examined his surroundings. It was hard to see through all the rain but he could faintly make out the shape of tree's bordering the area, a few buildings which must have belonged to the Asylum, and a dirt road that twisted and winded along for a several miles. There was a large tree to his right the was fairly tall and he guessed if they couldn't make it out of there they could make refuge in it for the night. There was distant rumble of thunder and out in the distance, he could just make out the flashes of lightening as the great storm came towards them. The worst was still to come.
He guessed it was also true for them as they were now on the run from the Asylum, lost and wanted experiments. It was a bit of a let down, as they hadn't thought of a plan for after they escaped but at the same time, just to get out of there was the main focus.
That's when it came to him. His senses numbed and he stood in the one spot, unable to move as if he was paralyzed on the spot. Images flickered before his eyes, giving him a brief vision of what was coming. From what he saw, there were employees and doctors all over the building, holding guns, and guarding other patient. Some, on the other hand, were headed towards something of a car park. The image was faint but from what he saw he could make out a wide variety of vehicles: Mercedes, vans, Land-cruisers...
With a slight jolt, Jake swayed a bit on the spot, blinking hard as the image faded away, and he was brought back to reality. They hadn't started the lookout yet, but it was due to start soon. Turning towards Chris, rather stiffly, he answered in response to his question. "Now, we leave," He said, his eyes hard. "Follow me."
Turning on his heel, he walked towards a clump of buildings not too far away, which, from his vision, he saw to be the car park, and technical buildings. He went fast, but stayed low, trying not to be seen, just in case. Eventually he stopped by the wall, leaning against it. He turned around to Chris. "I have a plan."
[Sorry, I power-played a tiny bit at the end. But only then, so I could get there]
