"Alright well then lucky for you I am a fairly good partner." Allison said with a giggle. "So I will bring Titan into a trot then you can tell me how well I ride and watch his lines for me.After that I will watch you ride and critique you." Allison said patting Titan. She then clucked her tongue and took Titan into a trot. He had beautiful lines and trotted smoothly for such a large gelding. Allison for her part sat the horse well. She had good posture and seemed to know the commands she was giving the horse. But there seemed to be no force behind her riding. The reins were loose and she didn't seem to put any force behind her commands. She was gentle by nature and never had really forced a horse to do anything. That's where her weakness laid. She didn't command a horse to do anything, no force was ever used. She would ask but if the horse decided not to do as she said she was lost. She couldn't control a stubborn horse.

Russell was relived that at least she was better at partner work then he was.  He then watched Her ride with Titan and he seemed to have great lines for such a big horse, usually larger horses where clumsy and in the way most of the time, but not Titan.  "He looks good!  May I ask what you are specializing in?  That way I know what to look for," he said with a raised voice so she could hear him.  "I noticed you barely gave him any comands, is that what you need to work on?" he felt like he should ask because it surprised him to find any faults in Allie.  Most of all, he felt like he had no place to talk, he barely knew anything about teaching people and he certainly didn't compare to Ludvig!  He grew more nervous as his turn was coming up.

"I am specializing in jumping. I do need to work on commands." She admitted. Then a memory hit her. She was 5, standing with her dad at the horse show watching the jumpers. "I want to do that." She told her dad pointing to the horses as they cleared the jump. He nodded and smiled at her. "One day I will teach you." He had promised. Then many years later. She was 13 and sat on her horse overlooking a series of jumps her father set up. She heard her father encouraging her and showing her on his own horse how to jump. She remembered the feeling of flying she had when she and her horse first started jumping. How her breath caught up when she cleared the ground and how she let go of the breath when she hit the ground again. The joy that was shown on her fathers face. "One day you will be a great jumper." He had promised. Allison blinked and the memory was gone. She had promised herself by his coffin that one day she would be an expert jumper, just for him. She pulled Titan up and patted him. "Your turn. So what are you specializing in?" She asked Russ.

Russell looked pleased, "No way!  That's what I'm specializing in too!" he said with a grin that showed off his white teeth.  Then, his smile disappeared when she mentioned his turn.  The last thing he wanted to do was embarrass himself infront of everyone, especially Allie.  He could feel his stomache rising in his throat as she neared him.  "I...I um....I guess it's my turn," he choked out, obviously, this was his problem.  Afraid to be embarrassed and the thought of messing up or even the thought of forgetting what he needed to do.  When pressure was put on him, it's like his brain couldn't handle it all.  It was weird to feel that way because he felt so much more calm when he was talk talking to someone or anything other then riding a horse.  It happened to him everytime.  You could see on his face that he was nervous, but he gave Lena the command to gallop instead of showing Allie all of his feelings like reading an open book apon his face.  He felt Lena under him, she seemed to move perfectly but he was something totally different.  He continued to fiddle with the reins and look at Lena's movements.  He knew he was being watched and that only made the feeling worse.  He began to take deep breaths in order to calm down some but it barely did anything to help.

Allison watched Russell as he rode. He was amazing she thought to herself as she watched him ride Lena. He was obviously someone who had been riding a long time. Then she noticed something. He seemed nervous. He fiddled with the reins and was breathing much deeper then he needed too. Then there was his stuttering from before. He had seemed fine when he was talking to her but, why all of a sudden the change? He must have stage fright. She thought to herself with a grin.It was nice to know that even he got nervous when riding in front of someone. She often got stage fright right before she was about to compete. The difference was that her stage fright faded away once she started riding. He rode so beautifully if only he could get over the stage fright. She thought to herself as she waited for him to ride back over to her so she could critique him.

Tristan nudged his horse into a trot towards Annalise as Ludvig said to partner up. She was the only person he had met so far really. "May I partner up with ya?" he asked in his southern accent. He gave Hugo a pat, he seemed to respond well to commands, that was good. He must have been well trained.

Erica glanced around, who could she partner with? She asked Nikolas to halt, and it he did so grudgingly, she would have to be firm with him that was for sure. She wasn't good at being firm when it came to horses, she had to remind herself of that again and again. She was better with horses who responded well to more gentle commands like a tap of her heels against the horses side instead of a kick. She wondered if that was why Ludvig have given her a stallion.

Russell turned Lena back around to ride back towards Allie.  This was the moment that he dreaded, when he would have to admit that he was scared.  He blushed as he came closer to her, knowing that she noticed everything he had done and witnessed how he became when he rode or performed in front of people, the people that opinions mattered most.  All he could do was focus on these feelings and it only made them worse, now what would Allie think of him?  That he was a wuss?  He knew that Lena could sense how scared he was and was beginning to react when he got close to Allie again.  He made himself look away, anything to keep from seeing her face.  He tried to cover it up some, "How was that?" he asked quietly, although he still didn't look at her.  It almost made him laugh, how could he be so scared of this?  Before he was so confident, but when it came down to riding, he couldn't focus to save his life.

Allison smiled at Russel. "That was really good, in fact you are a great rider. But, you seem really nervous when you are riding in front of someone. Which surprised me because when we were talking you didn't strike me as a particularly shy person. I think if you try to stop your nervous actions you can become a really amazing rider." Allison said gently. She had tried to choose her words wisely, she didn't want him to feel worse. She noticed how he didn't look at her and smiled a bit to herself. He must be really shy when it came to riding. She thought to herself. It is a shame though since he is a good rider. Well it was better to be shy then to not be able to command your horse. At least he could smile and fake bravery, she couldn't fake not being forceful.

Annalise smilied at Tristan. His southern accent was kind of cute. She herself had no accent, thank goodness, because Maryland accents weren't pretty. (No offense to MDers.)

"Sure,"she replied,"Just a warning, I keep a little to much weight in my hands. It's something I'm still working on. So, I guess I'll go first. I really want to see how this horse moves." She patted the white mare's neck. She was silently praying she wasn't on a "go forward" horse.

Annalise gently squeezed the mare's side. She took off at an energetic walk. Annalise let herself move with her horse, her heels down and back straight. After a few moments, she gathered up her reins and urged Anastasia into a trot. The mare moved nicely enough, but sometimes she needed a squeeze or she would fall into a lazy trot. They only truly had a problem when it was time to canter. Anastasia refused go faster than a "tranter". Luckily, Annalise had a crop which she used swiftly on the mare's rump. But then they picked up the wrong lead and Annalise was bouncy clumsly about. Her cheeks reddened, but that didn't stop her from slowly to a trot and trying again. The second attempt required no whip and was considerably better.

Russell turned to look at her and finally saw that she was still smiling at him.  Her remark wasn't that bad, and he could feel himself loosen up.  "It's silly..." was the only thing he could think to say.  He immediately began thinking of other things like ways that he could help Allie, but he kept thinking about how much of a fool he had acted like.  "Oh and thanks....for not laughing at my completely ridiculous fear," he added, he might as well embrace the fact that she knew his secret now.  Russ had just about settled down into his normal self and was breathing normally, maybe he and Allie could help each other out of their problems?  He felt it would be alot easier to teach Allie how to be more sturn towards the horses she rides then it would be to break his stage fright.  You might as well call in a psychiatrist.
