Cassy looked around. "Um, well what do you want to happen to you life?" SHe asked.

[Queen of Spades]

"Well, if I was that kind of guy, I'd give out a long speech about what I wanted like some would do, but this time, it's just a lone word. Forgiveness. It'll be a little hard, since I want the whole town I lived in to forgive me, for that time...... The gang thing." Dereck said with a slight shrug. "So really, that's all I'm striving for in life."

[Earth]

Cassy nodded. "Um, this might be a little personal but, why did you join a gang?"

[Queen of Spades]

"I didn't know I did until we started doing the "small group activities" at night. In other words, theft. Not killing, thankfully, but there were times we had to hurt some people. I refused to be part of the action, so they hooked me up in the technology department, planning escape routes, disarming alarms, that kind of stuff. So if you ever need a computer hacked, let me know." Dereck said with a small smile. "But yeah, I thought it was just a group of friends. Guess my speculations weren't good."

[Earth]

Cassy nodded. "Thats too bad. I guess it was nice to be liked by people though."

[Queen of Spades]

"Yeah, sure. They liked me until I decided it was enough and I said that after one night, I was going to leave. Well, it just so happens that they decided to have me, instead of being the man behind the scenes, to be the lookout. We got caught that night. Of course, I was the first person they found, and sounds like the only person they found. No jail time, but that was the end of seeing those guys." Dereck said, then looked up at the clouds. "But of course, the town isn't as quick to forgive as one would hope."

[Earth]

"Well you did do some pretty bad things," obsrved Cassy. "Even if you didn't do them by yourself. You still have to take the consequences and really the town proably didn't even want to know you much less forgive you. But I can see how it's unfair for you." Cassy blushed and put a hand over her mouth. "Sorry went all Oprah on you there." SHe said quietly.

[Queen of Spades]

"I'll say you did...." Dereck muttered with a small laugh. "Though I think Oprah's just a big fake. My mom watched her. So don't think that was my first Oprah lecture." He said, then sighed. "Yeah, I know. Though, I suppose I was like every other kid. Didn't want to lose the only friends I had since the move. Or really, the only friends I had since forever."

[Earth]

Cassy nodded still blushing. "I understand. It's hard being over looked as just another person." Cassy said simply with no emotion in her voice but her eyes betryed feelings.

"Yeah, it is." Dereck said with a nod. He looked at the sky again, noticing the sun getting closer to the horizon. It looked like maybe four, or a little earlier. "Though at least with that last, uh... occupation, I learned how to defend myself."
