Lin sulked off, no longer abiding by their code of not being seen, working quickly, or even working at all. With all caution thrown to the wind, he began to search for Lia again. He really just wanted to talk to someone--anyone--who wasn't Tai. Who did she think she was, limiting who he could talk to, acting like she was the only important person around?

Although she did have a point, he reasoned. No, he thought, and almost said it out loud. He was right. She was wrong. He continued wandering, dodging between the people around him, his eyes focused on the ground, only looking up occasionally.

Lia looked around with her neck craned, searching for the Earth boy and his sister. Becoming impatient, she got up from her seat with a huff. Hoards of people swarmed around and made it hard to see from her height. He's probably not even looking for me. She crossed her arms.
The soles of her shoes padded and scuffed against the stone flooring as she made her way past stone wall after stone wall, person after person. She glanced upward, taking a second look quickly. There he is! She was secretly excited. He was on an adventure, right? Had he come back for Lia to join?
She giggled softly, pushed gently through crowds of people standing and talking. "Hey, you!.. Uh, Earth boy." How come she hadn't learned his name? People gave her odd looks as she franticly waved her arms, jumping up and down to be able to see over some of the other heads. "Hey! Over here." A smile spread across her face.

Lin smiled back, not quite a grin, but it was still there, and waved back, pushing through the crowd to meet her in the middle. He thrust one hand into his pocket and ran the other through his hair. "Hey," he said, his voice lower and not quite as excited as it had been when they had first talked. "I'm sorry about Tai. She's just... I guess she's just being Tai, right? It's like... you know, she's just like that. She probably doesn't even think you're that bad..."

Realizing how horrible he was making her sound, he shut his mouth. "We were never properly introduced, were we?" he added.
