((I'm behind. A LOT! Is everyone else already at the academy? Sorry I couldn't post in a while. I'm going to try to catch up quickly though!))
Kimira walked into the kitchen, seeing her sister sitting at the table showing her dad something on the computer, Henry eating messily, Kasey banging on the bottom of her bowl which she had flipped over with a spoon, and her mother trying to get Kasey to eat something. Yeah. I’m going to miss this. She took her seat by Henry and started eating.
Karya put the computer away and began to eat her meal. She couldn’t really taste it between all the excitements that bubbled through her veins. I hope that not all of the rest of my meals will taste like this before we leave. That could become an issue. After everyone was done and Henry took his turn to clean off the table, the family stayed sitting there and talked.
Karya got quite comfortable and placed her feet crossed on the table and Kimira looked at her in disgust. Where are your table manners? Karya smiled at her, but refused to move her feet. They discussed the trip, cost, and staying in the boarding houses. It would be 3 days, 3 long days.
awhile later...
The girls were surprised when their father told them that he could get them out sooner and had gotten them a small plane for the whole ride there with no stops along the way. Soon they were leaving in the limo to the airport. Kimira looked back, taking in the house one last time. Karya was ‘dancing’ in her seat with her headphones in listening to her iPod. Kimira looked at her and shook her head. How could she be so ok with not seeing her family in months?
Boarding the plane was worse. Kimira didn’t know what to take onto the plane to do. A two hour trip?! That was crazy! Karya shook her head, impatience for her sister had always been a problem, but now it was just annoying how long her sister was taking. “Just grab something and go! Jeez.”
Once on the plane, Kimira gripped the seat like a life support. Flying and not liking heights never went well together. Karya, annoyed with her sister’s mini panic attack, took the headphones out of her ears and looked at her. “What is your problem? If you didn’t want to come, why did you?”
Kimira glared at her sister, “You know I don’t like heights. YOU aren’t helping right now. I do want to come, I just wish we could’ve driven.”
Karya looked at Kimira like she was crazy. “Driven?! It would take us 5 days just to get there not to mention that I can’t sit that long and it would have cost more with the gas prices and everything. You just don’t ever think do you? I can’t believe you. It took you 10 minutes to decide what to bring on the plane when it was a 2 hour trip. 2 hours isn’t very long. I bet you didn’t bring any money for food or clothes or anything. Think dad’s gonna hold your hand for the rest of your life or what?” Karya sat back and put her headphones back in, ignoring her sister for the rest of the flight.
