Kale was silent for a moment before clearing her throat. "Do you know why I look like I'm having such a good time when I'm with Reid? He makes me laugh, and says or does little things that make me feel like myself when I'm around him. He asks about my uncle, about me, showing he cares about my family as well. And even though we aren't blood-related, he knows just how to make me mad, just how make me laugh and blush and smile. He teases me like an older brother, takes care of me like I'm really family. He maes me feel comfortable around him, I can tell him anything without being afraid of his reaction, afraid that he'll get mad or tell everyone what I said. He lets me be myself, and lets me know how much I mean to him." Kale said, in her own strange way, letting Darren know what he can do to make her feel more comfortable and happy around him, like she is with Reid.

Jimmy smirked alittle as he looked toward her.

Darren climbed to his feet. "Well I guess if I don't make you happy, or comfortable, I'll leave. You can go be around Reid since I'm not good enough," He grumbled as he turned away and began to walk.

she smiled brightly her face still slowly moving forward till she was kissing him lightly.

Jimmy continued to smile and gently kissed her back.

Pride almost made Kale let him walk away but deep remorse and knowing she'd be making the biggest mistake of her life swiftly overcame it and she immediately got to her feet and planted herself in front of him, stopping him from going. "You said you loved me. You said I was special. Was that all a lie and you're going to throw it away because of what I said? I'm sorry, for what I said, it wasn't right of me, to judge, I'm the pot calling the kettle black because I don't always do all those things for you. I love you, not Reid, not anyone else, not in this way. R-Reid has known me for a long time, which is why he knows exactly what to do around me, but...he can never compare to you. Not in the way you make me feel, the ways you do show you care, you do make me happy, even though I don't always tell you, but you do." She started out strong in the beginning but her voice turned slightly wobbily as her eyes glistened with tears, angry at herself for saying something so stupid outloud, and afraid. "I should't've said anything, should't've have said something so careless, and I'm sorry. Even though sorry isn't good enough, I want you to know I am."

Jimmy pulled his lips away. "Ok that's enough," He said in a teasing tone.l

Darren looked at her. "I never said I was breaking up with you, but clearly you made it sound like I wasn't good enough for you," He mumbled softly. "I never said that all the things I've said are lies because they aren't, just because I decide to walk away after you said those things that hurt me, doesn't mean I don't love you. I can't take everything everyone says. I just can't," He said as he looked down at her.

she frowned and crossed her arms over her chest in a grumpy but jokey tone "do you not love me any more then howard?" she asked teasingly back

"I never meant to hurt you, God that was the last thing on my mind," Kale said as two tears spilled from her eyes, so anguished that she had used her words to hurt him again. "Well it sure sounds like you are, just like what I said sounded like, like you aren't good enough for me when the truth is, you're too good and I never know what to say or do that'll match up to you!" She added, looking up at him sincerely.

Jimmy crossed his arms. "Just because I've had enough kisses doesn't mean I don't love you," He replied with a slightly devious look on his face.

Darren wrapped his arms around her and quickly leaned down and kissed her passionately. "I'm not leaving you," He mumbled through the kiss.
