Æsc didn't answer but winced at the tone in her voice. He didn't see a reason to not think like that, he was numb inside now and couldn't feel anything towards her, not anger or sadness, or even pain, he'd completely shut off. All he could feel was the stabbing and aching of his wounds.
He looked over his shoulder as there was a loud rumbling and a large chunk of the building fell off sending up a cloud of dust. There were people fleeing everywhere, both the scientists and those they'd been experimenting on.
