Alex arched an eyebrow. "that b*tch!" he yelled. "how could he do that" he said sitting down onto his bed which had a red comforter on it. he was so frustrated and angry about this. Bella deserved better. much better. th though of anyone doing that sickened him. "maybe i might pay a visit to this scottie kid" he said standing up.

Sarah rolled of her bed with a thud in the Demeter cabin. she remained asleep.

Dash smiled. “Don’t worry, Alex, I beat him up pretty bad,” he replied. “He had swollen organs.” Dash frowned. “I almost got arrested.”

Bella stood in the doorway of the Hades cabin, eyes wide. She stared at Alex, then at Dash. “Y-you gave him swollen organs?” she whispered. Her eyes were filled with hurt. “Dash, he loved me—he told me he did, at least,” she whispered. Bella marched into the room and slapped him. The sound rang through the cabin, piercing everyone’s eardrums with the sheer anger of it. She spun on her heel and slammed the door behind her.

Jackie woke up to a thud. She sat up and looked around, then spotted Sarah on the floor, sleeping like a baby. She walked over, then shook Sarah's shoulder softly. "Sarah?" She whispered to her half sister.

"but mom i don't wanna go to school!" Sarah said but it was slurred as she was in a half sleep and half awake period. she opened her eyes to see Jackie. she almost screamed as she saw her, but cupped her hands over her mouth.

Alex and Drew both blinked as Dash was slapped across the face. the sound hurt their ears as it rang in the air. as she slammed the door shut both twins were up and over to Dash. "you alright?" they both asked in sync with each other.

Dash frowned, then shrugged. He was strong. “Bella’s a wimp,” he said loudly. “But Alex, I think I pissed her off by telling you guys that. But I’m sure you’ll meet someday,” he added, his eyes and face darkening. He turned to Drew. “She used to get the greatest gifts, too. But it wasn’t Scottie’s fault, exactly . . .” he added.

Without a weapon, Bella stalked into the forest.

Jackie suppressed a laugh, forcing the corners of her mouth down. "You okay?" She raised an eyebrow. "You fell on the floor while you were sleeping... and you continued sleeping." This time an amused smile slipped out.

Alex now was curious and so was Drew. "what do you mean it wasn't his fault?" Alex sasked as both Drew and Alex's eyes returned to their regular chocolate brown instead of the coal black they had just been. They listened intently to Dash almost like little kids waiting for story time at the library.

"yeah, " Jackie said rubbing her eyes. she sat up then looked around the cabin. she then stood up and looked at Jackie a bit embaressed. "it happens a lot" she explained as her cheeks turned red.

“Well, Winnie sort of sank her claws into him as soon as Bella left, plus he wasn’t exactly sober. Bella and Winnie look very alike, but . . .” Dash made an ew face. “Okay, so it was his fault. Something possessed him that night. He hates himself for hurting Bella. But hell, he got over it faster than she did.” His eyes were worried as they flew to the window. “She’s in the woods at night,” he growled. “Without a weapon.” He rolled his eyes. “He did tell her he loved her, not that long ago, though. He still has feelings for her. But Winnie, well, she doesn’t care.”

Babycakes padded into the cabin in front of Kaylee, who entered and sat beside Dash. “He did love her,” she stated factfully. “They were truly . . .” she stared at Alex. “No offense Alex, she totally is into you and I haven’t seen her smile in about two months, but, they were in love. YES, love.”

"thats horrible!" Alex exclaimed. Drew just nodded. "we should go find Bella" Drew said. "i heard today that Shane and Max went into the woods and were faced with around 7 or 8 chimeras but they could fend them off since they're the best fighters at camp. Shane being daughter of wisdom and being here so long and max being the child of fire" he explained. Alex nodded. "it's really not safe in the woods now" he said.

“Let’s hop to it!” yelled Dash. The pen he had turned into a large knife and got out of the cabin to look for his sister.

Bella sat in the dark woods, her bare feet scraping on pine needles. But she felt nothing. Dash could have killed Scottie. Bella looked over the cliff the was on. She sat back on the rock and stared at the moon; it was beautiful. This was the brink: the fall before the climb, the night before the day, the life before the death. Bella decided that she’d sleep here. She curled up.
