Carter breathed easier as she recignized Pam. "Yeah," she said. "I think I am." Her throat was almost swollen from all the blood she has been drinking.

Carl felt his heart slowing down. Not much longer, he thought.

Shane watched as Carter spoke to Pam and noticed Carl seemed to be becoming what seemed to be sleepy thought he knew what it really was.

Vitriol cursed loudly and instantly he was at Carl's side, his hand on his shoulder. "Breathe slowly. Concentrate on breathing and not about the fact that your dying." he said slowly, his hand moving lightning fast as he checked his pulse, tempature, and his blood rate. "Not good...." he muttered to himself.

Pamela looked up to notice that Carl wasn't looking good. He was near death. "What's wrong with him?" she asked.

"Your friends blood that was in Carter got in him." He said through clenched teeth. "There's no time to save him from it now. The only thing I can do now is prolong his life for a few more minutes." he growled angrily. His hand gently brushed along the boy's neck. He could feel the weak pulse. He growled and clenched his teeth, biting his lip and drawing blood. A line of blood rolled down his chin.

Carl smiled at Carter and Shane. "Sorry," he whispered, then closed his eyes and waited for his heart to stop beating forever.

Carter, despite her dreadful hatered towards Carl, felt a lump come to her throat. "It's okay," she whispered back, wondering is she meant it. Then, she listened as his heart stopped. She move towards Shane and gave him a look of sadness; though it wasn't as sad of a look as it could have been.

Shane stepped close to Carter, wrapping his arm around her, doing what he could to comfort her. Seeing the saddened look on her face made his heart feel as though it was filled with an amount of pain that couldn't go away until she was happy.

Pamela looked, shocked, as Carl neared his last breath. Sure, he was the bad guy, but he didn't deserve to die!

Carter closed her eyes as Shane wrapped his arms around her. "He had to die a hero." she muttered. "Now I cant hate him." SHe tried to sound glum, but him sacrificing himself for her lessened the hate.

"He's in a better place now," Shane whispered to her quietly wishing to keep her from being this way.
